He was basically an unknown back then. I thought that he did an excellent job in that role.
It was the first time I had ever seen him act. I grumbled that they got an UNKNOWN for the Frank Sinatra part (when the mini-series started) but was VERY pleasantly surprised by how he handled that difficult role (after it finished).
