The Musketeers of Pig Alley (1912/Griffith) Perhaps considered the first gangster movie, with Griffith's first variation from the simple "good triumphs over evil" theme.
Good movie, although I prefer Broken Blossoms. Musketeers is a bit too short for my taste.
