Yes, it was determined a few days ago that it was definitely arson. One of the victim's mother has made a plea for the arsonist to come forward and said she feels as though this person/s didn't intend for it to go quite this far.

She's a bigger person than I. Anyone who lives in CA, especially the Inland Empire, knows how dry it is and how very easily these fires breakout. The flame will spread immediately because everything is as dry as a bone. I feel confident if the Santa Anas hadn't kicked up, these firefighters would have been spared.

SB, to be honest I have not heard any update on the surviving firefighter, but yes, it's gotta be heartbreaking for their families.
