I agree. If they offered Duvall minimum wage, that's one thing. But, they probably offered him several million. Considering what the Trilogy represents in terms of cinematic quality, excellence, and history, it seems he would have jumped at the chance to be a part of it. Afterall, it is not as if he needed the money. It's not as if he is just starting out in movies. How much money does one person need. Keep in mind that Duvall was not intended to be the movie's star.
