Actually, by the time he made 'Some Like It Hot', Jack Lemmon was an established star, already an Academy Award Winner (Best Supporting Actor - Mister Roberts) in 1955.

But in 1959 - the Oscar was rightfully awarded to Heston so Lemmon's loss can't really be considered a 'snub'.
