It was time for a change. He's turned from a "player's coach" to a "player's apologist."
What really needs to change though is the Tribune Company ownership of the Cubs. For far too long, the only thing the present ownership cares about is that the stadium is full and are only willing to make the one or two moves every offseason that will keep it that way (I'm sure you can relate with me on that one, Bethie). This mentality does not build championships.
