Your pitching staff IS part of your WHOLE team's salary cap! So I don't agree with you and really fail to see your point about seperating hitting stats from pitching stats if you go over the cap. In that case ESPN would have set up a sperate salary cap for pitchers and then another one for hitters.

Regardless if you pick your pitcher first (which as you said, most of us probably do) or last, the bottom line is that you have a TEAM salary cap and therefore if you go over the Salary Cap in what is called the SALARY CAP game, then all of your TEAM'S stats shouldn't count.

Who's fault is it if you go over the salary cap when picking your line-up? You are given a warning, right there on the site, if you are over the cap.

Why should your pitching stats count separately from your hitting stats if your TEAM goes over the salary cap? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
