The "run line" is like a point spread.

Instead of laying, say 250 to win 100 on a big favorite, you can lay only, say 11-10, or 6-5, or 13-10, but they have to win by more than 2 runs.

If they win by exactly 2 runs, it's "no bet" (a "push"). If the win by less than 2 runs, or lose the game outright, you lose the bet.

If you want the underdog, instead of getting odds of, say, 2 to 1, you get 1 1/2 runs added to their score, so if they win the game outright or lose by only one run, you win your bet.

But remember...you're not getting the fat 2-1 odds anymore. You're now laying 11-10, or getting only even money or something.
