I do love this part of the season, and now its the Super bowl! The parties, with the food, the commercials, the game itself. It is like another holiday.

Here is lyric's to this Steeler song I've been hearing on the radio:

Here we go
Here we go
Here we go
Steelers, Here we go
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl
Here we go

Cheer the Steelers, Black and the Gold
Here we go
Town of Pittsburgh's, Heart and Soul
Here we go
With Cowher power, will get the job done
This is the year will get that one for the thumb

Here we go
Here we go
Here we go
Steelers, Here we go
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl

Here we go
We got Maddox, he's ready to throw
Here we go
To Ward, Antwaan, and Plaxio
Here we go
Will go to Bettis when we need a touchdown
and if you get his way hes goin to knock you around

Here we go
Here we go
Here we go
Steelers, Here we go
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl

Here we go
Now the offense is ready to score
Here we go
And theres one thing we know for sure
Here we go
If we dont get it in the endzone
Will get 3 points off of Reeds big toe

Here we go
Here we go
Here we go
Steelers, Here we go
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl

Here we go
We got Chad Scott, Hope, and Gildon
Here we go
Porter, Logan and Washington
Here we go
The other team aint going to gain any ground
Becuase the defense is going to bring the steel curtain down

Here we go
Here we go
Here we go
Steelers, Here we go
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl

Here we go
Here we go
Here we go
Steelers, Here we go
Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl

HERE WE GO!!

I hope Worthlisberger gets knocked out the Super Bowl on his first throw, ala Carson Palmer. I've been watching pro football for more than 25 years and the Steelers are so unbelievably lucky to be there that it sickens me. Every break has gone their way in the playoffs. The only 2 teams as being as undeserving of making the Super Bowl as this year's Steelers were the '85 Patriots and the '94 Chargers. Both got spanked in the big game, which I hope will also happen to Pittsburgh.

I've had time to calm down and think about the upcoming game now. I don't know if I can bear to watch it. But I can't not watch it. I don't think it's as late a kick off as usual. Should be around half past midnight here. Party time!

Goombah, I'd agree luck has been on our side but the last two games we've come out shooting and performing well. But our leads had increased due to turnovers falling our way. That means we get to play our syle of football and takes out the running element of the opponents. I don't know if we're going to be able to do that against Seattle but if we can it'd be a huge advantage to take Alexander out of the mix.

Me too. I figured Seattle as the favorite by maybe 3 or so.

I hope the Stones don't have any "wardrobe malfunctions."

One of my favorite Stones albums is "Get Yer Ya Yas Out", a recording of their live performances at Madison Square Garden in the late 1960's.

There's a litttle chatter by Mick before a few of the songs, one where he says

"I think I just busted a button on my trousers. You wouldn't want my trousers to fall down now, would you?"

It'll be a good game, and despite goombah's thoughts, I think the Steelers as their image of Tough Bastards defeated the #1, 2, and 3 seeds in the playoffs.....and on the road. What is lucky about that?

However, I do agree that the Seahawks still don't get any due respect. I mean, they only smacked the Panthers around like some kids beating up a kid with asthma.

Should be a good game, and hopefully our friends outside the Imperial Gates of America will watch and enjoy the wonders that is American Football...I mean besides Turi.

Now think of the following things:

*If the Seahawks win Super Bowl XL, it will be the first time that a Head Coach(Mike Holmgren) has won two Super Bowl titles with two different times. Many have gone to Super Bowls with more than one team(i.e. Don Schula), but none have ever won two with two different franchises.

*If the Steelers prevail, not only will they finally get the elusive fifth "Thumb Ring", they will be the 3rd franchise to do so, after the Cowboys and 49ers.

*Future Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis will play in Detroit for Super Bowl XL...which also happens to be his home town. One wonders if he has the homefield advantage in his pocket for this "neutral" matchup.

*Will Bill "Sgt. Slaughter" Cowher finally win the big one, and upgrade his legacy? Who knows, a Super Bowl victory might actually make him a possible Hall of Fame candidate in the future.

*The first Super Bowl game for the Seahawks.

You'd be surprised how many outsiders to the US will watch the game. Most of the time it's just to work out what the fuss is about and sometimes for others it's just a want to be a part of something so big. Then for the minority it's for the love of the game. I usually have a few mates round for the game but I'm thinking about holding a mini party for it.

It'll be ironic that the Seahawks got here through homefield advantage. The Steelers made it all the way on the road. Steeler fans go everywhere and make their presence known. The Detroit/Bus factor will also help. I can imagine this being more of a homegame to the Steelers and the Seahawks playing their first road game. Who's going to feel the role reversal the most?

Hmm, they went through the #1, #2, and #3 and got more points that the other team, I consider that being deserving.

RRA, Pittsburgh is also the first #6 seed to go through #1, #2, and #3 and make it to the Super Bowl.

I definitley think the Steelers will win.

THE STEELERS WILL WIN.

Why this juvenile hate at the Steelers?

Last I checked, "Luck" is alot for the Steelers, since they won several games just to get to the Super Bowl. Trust me, if this was College Football, such opinions would be acceptable I guess, but this is the NFL. You know, we actually have a playoff system, where the best teams play each other out, until only one undisputed champ remains.

Oh and ya, I pick the Steelers to win as well!

I am shitting bricks! Though the cider is starting to calm me down. Instead of just the usual crowd I have round for NFL games I'm hosting a Superbowl bash tonight. If we win it's going to be a decent night and morning as I'll wake up and have a few breakfast beers. If we lose I'm going to be in a right lousy mood and these fellas will see the worst of me. I'll end up punching someone in the mouth.

I would have invited all my US buddies but I figured a day like this probably better spent in the right country for it. America is the place to be for today. Just another hour until NFL Countdown begins.

Don't worry my mates will be well looked after. Been out and got a ton of hotdogs and rolls for them. Plus I got MY shopping done:

Seattle lost this game themselves. Pittsburg did not beat them.

This was bullshit. The refs handed this game to the Steelers.
