Can you possibly twist my words around any more? But to answer your question - why would I want to shake myself less? :p

I don't friggin' believe this..... I am .5 over the cap today Three years of baseball - maybe 540 or so days - two years of basketball - another 360 or so - and that's the first time ever. In fact, for any and all of us who have played either game in Gangster BB history - probably 7000 or more daily entires submitted, I remember this happening only twice. TWICE. JG did it once in baseball two years ago I think, and SP did it once last year in basketball. Well, I just spotted you guys about 100 points or so. So much for winning by "a lot". I guess I'll have to really start playing now, settle in for a long struggle, and winning by just a little.

It's up to you to determine how much salary you want to pay for 5 pts max.

Gangster BB Fantasy Star Placed on Suicide Watch plawrence Has Belts and Sneaker Laces Taken Away By Neal Pulcawer
Gangster BB Fantasy Sports Star plawrence was placed on a suicide watch late this afternoon when it was found that his ESPN Fastbreak team for Sunday was .5 over the salary cap.
Mr. plawrence, who goes by one name as does rock star Prince, made the discovery Sunday afternoon when selecting his team for Monday.
plawrence, who has won two major championships in baseball and basketball as well as several minor ones in other fantasy games, was in fourth place in the Gangster BB league at the time of his costly error, but trailed leader DonMichaelCorleone by only 28 points at the time.
The popular ESPN game involves selecting a team of five NBA players and a coach each day. Players are assigned a salary cap value, and the aggregate total of each team may not exceed 100. In the event that their salary cap value exceeds 100, participants in the game earn no points that day.
Mr. plawrence was discovered seated at his computer, mumbling and dribbling, at approximately 5:00 PM Sunday just prior to making a mad dash for his 9th floor terrace and attempting to climb its railing.
After being forcibly restrained by an unidentified member of his household, he was placed in bed, tied down, and divested of his belt and sneaker laces. His neckties were also removed from his closet, and a vial of blue pills which he takes for an undisclosed medical condition were taken from his possession.
Mr. plawrence could not be reached for comment.

I appreciate the offer, but I must decline.
First of all, I doubt if anyone would be a sonuvabitch and not agree to it, even if they don't want to.
Second of all, it's really no different than missing a day. It's a mental error, and part of the game.
Third of all, I figured I'd win the first half by about 200 points, so while I'm certainly not saying that I don't care, I'm certainly not giving up, nor am I tremendously worried yet.
Finally, there have been a few instances in these games over the years when we discussed the possibility of making scoring decisions which were contrary to the "official" scoring of ESPN.
There was one case in the 2003-04 season, I believe, when ESPN failed to account for leap year's February 29th or something - I don't remember the details, but I'm sure you can find them in the old thread.
Anyway, I think that we had scores for that day, but ESPN ruled that they wouldn't count or something, and we had a whole discussion about whether they should or not.
I argued that they should, because we had them and the fact that ESPN wasn't counting them didn't mean that we shouldn't either.
I think I had high score that day, or second high score, but I was quite busy assuring people that my opinion was absolutely not based on my own self-interest, as it won't be here.

I just know Plaw is WAY too proud to accept handouts -- and I wouldn't want him to feel degraded. :p Then again, he got a nice handout playing TL in football this week.
