I've never done a keeper league either. It would probably be interesting.

I've always wanted to try that -- but certainly for no other sport besides baseball... so if we want to try that next year, I'm all for it...!

I studied Italian for 2 semesters. Not once was a "C" pronounced as a "G", and never was a trailing "I" ignored! And I'm from Jersey! tongue lol

I think he's got me picked for first.

WARNING:

If you are picking your team for tomorrow (Wednesday), be careful.....

I just went to do mine, and I noticed that I could still edit today's picks, and not yet make those for tomorrow's games.

Also, since the rosters for today were not locked yet, I could not, of course, see anyone else's picks for today.

Good old ESPN.

For me it now says "Week 1 Weekly rosters lock on November 1st at the first tipoff" BUT we're not playing Weekly, so it appears you can now change it for tomorrow... tho I'm afraid to. lol

It seems to be OK now. I think it's should be safe to do tomorrow's team.

Here's a direct link to Assistant GM

Our group number is 62240, but the thing doesn't seem to be working yet (unless by translating the gibberish on top you can figure out if I did something wrong or not).

I wouldn't feel too confident that AsstGM will work -- he never did update the BBC version. But I really hope I'm wrong.

Why the hell Good Ol' ESPN doesn't offer this feature is beyond me.

I can see other people's picks for today now, on the group page. The AsstGM thing didn't work for me either though.

Everyone all psyched?

Good.

Just a reminder....Don't forget our "3:00 AM Monday Morning" rule.

For you new guys, here's an explanation from last year:

http://www.gangsterbb.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=000359;p=6 6

Start with my second post on that page, and then the comments that follow.

I can't seem to see other people's picks, even now. All you do is click on the person's name, right? Or is there some other link I'm supposed to go to?

So, the 3:00 AM rule is the same as with baseball, then? I'm fine with that. The only way I would possibly do it is by accident, and I really don't think I'd be setting it at that time, anyway.

Oh, duh!

Thanks. That's what I was thinking, because I remembered it from BBC, but apparently I completely missed seeing that link.

YES! Totally. There's something different in the air during basketball season. And way more traffic near the Staples Center, but that's okay. A worthy sacrifice.

It's just a game. That's what I'll keep telling myself. I had no idea what a "good" score is for basketball, so I got a little excited when I saw mine - until I compared it with everyone else's.

Yeah, well... if you about double the average scores (there are no double headers ) from Baseball Challenge, you'll roughly be in the same vicinity as this game. So, halve your score and you'll get an idea....

That's true of the upside, but on the downside you're not gonna get too many scores below around 70 or so in this game, which translates to 35 in baseball.

But baseball scores (when your pitching gets hammered) below 35 are not that unusual.

Boy, if that ain't the truth. Not unusual at all, especially if your name starts with an L and ends with a Z-I-A. Not to name names.

That's true, too. Your "PS" is your "coach", and in this game, it's either 0 or 5 points. Not 30, and not -30...
