Well, the book and the movie ended in a similar fashion, but one major difference was left out of the movie. And I can completely understand why.

Yes, that whole scene with Stan and his wife (Whoever heard of a Jewish mermaid?) was very good, and very sad, too. I love when King does that sort of background writing, although many could argue that we didn't need to know that much about Mrs. Uris, since we never see or hear from her again, but I love that kind of stuff.

BTW, Beth, what is this woman doing with your future son-in-law???
