Gina, if you're looking for a good book to read that talks about baseball (although fictional), did you ever read Snow in August? It's about an Irish Catholic boy from Brooklyn. He ventures out into a blizzard to serve as altar boy at mass. He encounters an orthodox rabbi whose regular shabbes goy (I probably spelled that wrong) didn't show up. The shabbes goy is someone that an Orthodox Jew will hire at the Sabbath to turn on their heat, etc., as they are forbidden to do any work during the Sabbath. The rabbi teaches him about the jewish religion and he teaches the rabbi about baseball. It's a wonderful book, and you might really enjoy it. Snow in August on Amazon
