Actually, even some of the movie mismatchs don't seem to make sense. Considering killing a police captain and a massacure of Organized Crime heads would seem to be front page news, It doesn't look like it would be that hard to have some Senate interns looking through old newspapers to find the correct year for the various murders.

And considering it's a legal proceding, accurate imformation would seem to be important here. So Micheal wasn't committing perjury when he said that he did not kill McClusky and Sollozo in 1947 and the 5 families in 1950, since he killed them in 1946 and,IIRC, 1955 respectivly(though Tom bringing this up would probably not be the best idea).
