This is for all you sports gals out there that enjoy watching the men that play sports almost as much (or more) than the sport itself!

Over at the Astros message board that I go to, we have a "ladies' section" where all the girls chat about which guys they think are cutest, have the best hair, seem to have the best personality, and so on, and I thought we could use one here.

I hope the guys won't mind? I know y'all are probably going to get annoyed with this, and if so, just start a "Man Thread" up to talk about women athletes. :p

Bethie, I know you've got some pictures and thoughts on your man, Vinny, and I've certainly got a few to talk about. Zia, and any other sports gals...who are "your" guys in sports? Favorite baseball, basketball, football, soccer, etc. athletes?

Chat away, gals!

My contributions:

Tracy McGrady of the Rockets
(I love this picture, because it was taken when he and Rocket got together to play baseball and basketball...they're apparently pretty good friends. )

Manu Ginobili of the Spurs
(Good reason to pick the Spurs, right? )

Miguel Cabrera of the Marlins
(He's only 22! Married. Rats. :p )

Willy Taveras of the Astros
(He's already a cutie, but I seem to be a sucker for braces, now.)

Well, those are the main ones, but I'll add more, I think. There are also some "unmentionables" that happen to be good-looking despite my hatred for them as a player.

I agree with you about Manu... especially in the Olympics, he and a few of his teammates looked exceptionally good.

The hottest guys are in soccer, though. There are a lot of really ugly ones too, but the hot ones make up for it.
At the moment, I have to go and study, but later on I'll put down some names and/or pics.

I don't always act like a lady, but can I still join this thread? :p

I think all the pics I have of Vinny have already been posted...what..about 1 or 2 million times.

I've never gone for the pretty boy, slicked back hair type. I watch baseball and football to see the butt slapping, crotch grabbing tobacco spitting men I've grown to love. If I want to see preppy boys I'll go watch polo or something.

I don't follow basketball much, but I'd have to say that Tony Parker of The Spurs is a cutie. Plus, he's boinking Eva Longoria, so you gotta love him.

I'll post pics and what not later. Right now I gotta make the boss happy and get started on doing some work.

EDIT: Does anyone else think Manu Ginoblie looks like Jerry Seinfeld?

How many of you gals watch to sports talk shows, whether on ESPN or local channels. I absolutely love Mike and Mike in the morning. They're hilarious. I can't find any decent pics of Greeny and Golic though.

He was on Party of Five..then just disappeared. But he is a cutie.

I'm sure all the guys are voyuering. I should try to find a nekked pic of an athlete and see how quickly Geoff shows his face.

It's nice to be in a thread talking about sports without someone saying, "Players only...get OUT"!...

As far as football players go I've always been a sucker for the QB's. Who wants to look at a sweaty, 400 pound linebacker.

Joe Montana

Steve Young

Brett Favre

Just to offset the balance I'll throw in a non GQ..Marcus Allen. He's a hottie!!

Good thing we took down all the girlie pics before Geoff found this thread! :p

So glad you gals are joining in! Bethie, I can tell you'll help me keep this thread alive. Afs, you're certainly welcome...shoot, when the guys aren't looking, maybe we can talk about any guys, even non-athletes. You know...like Johnny Depp?

Bethie, I used to love watching I, Max! I was just thinking about that show yesterday, because a similar one was on, either ESPN or FSN, where they were arguing and joking, and it reminded me of how I miss Max. He was a cutie, and it was hilarious to watch them argue.

Alright. Zia's joining the party!

I don't really watch soccer, but I've seen enough of the players to understand where you're coming from.

Now. How about those hot golfers? You know...there's...

Okay. Back to baseball.

Maybe somewhat. I'd rather him like like Sein than the guy I noticed he resembles in one particular pic I found...Bob Saget. I'm just ignoring that, though. I still love Manu.

Bob Saget isn't that much of a stretch. Maybe he could play Manu's daddy in a movie.

I was just kidding about the golfers...only one I've even heard of is Tiger Woods.

Hmm. I was looking through our thread at the Astros BB, and I had posted this guy:

He is Wally Szczerbiak of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and I guess I just "discovered" him during a game in which the Rockets played them. He looks almost too "pretty boy" in this picture, though.

ok, gals, I'm loving THIS place. Now we can giggle and gossip about who we feel has an excellent "tight end". I have to tell you that the only sports I do follow are Yankees baseball and an occasional NASCAR race.

That said, I have some serious hot pants for Derek Jeter. How bedroom are those eyes? Also, gotta love anybody that is talented, rich, hot and has a nickname like A-Rod!! Unfortunately, I have no idea how to post photos.

As for football players, I lived next to a guy who played in the '69 Superbowl. He had the sexiest legs I have ever seen.

Gina, I love the kid who played Benny the Jet! I was old enough when the movie came out to feel a tad perverted for even thinking that way. Does anyone know what he looks like all grown up??

My daughter has a mad crush on Derek Jeter. She insists she's his future wife. I said only if we have a double wedding with me and Vinny Castilla. Of course, there's the small problem of his current wife. hahahaha.

I love Benny "The Jet". Maybe that sounds creepy coming from an old lady, but I wonder what he looks like now.

I wonder if The Sandlot is considered a baseball movie. The great ones I love are A league of their own and Bull Durham. But Bang the drum slowly makes me cry every time I see it. All they have to do is start playing that music and I start bawling.

Oh, I forgot the Nascar issue. I love Nascar, but I have to admit I hardly watch a full race anymore. Last year my phone was off and you dared not knock on my door on Sundays because I was in a zone watching Nascar. Maybe because alot of veterans are gone and there's too many newbies. I know I'll be strangled for this, but my favorites are Jeff Gordon and Dale, Jr. Although, there's not too many that I hate and wouldn't root for. The one I really can't stand is Tony Stewart. He's too cocky. I still don't know what happended to Ward Burton. I just loved to sit and hear him speak and try to understand two words he said.
