I believe that every single deleted scene should have been left in the movie. I dont know if anyone here has seen the Godfather saga, which puts the whole story in chronilogical order and keeps all the deleted scenes in it. But you will see that the deleted scenes hold special significance and explain things better and give different insight into some characters, for example, the owner of the funeral home who makes the infamous request at Connies wedding, when he is called upon to return his Don's favor after sonny is shot, there is a scene where Tom actually calls him in the middle of the night to go meet them, at which time he bad mouths the Don to his wife for a while. This makes me think of him entirely different.
