If its still quite gooey try rubbing your thumb around it in a circular motion to help relieve most of it off. after that dab ever so slightly a little bit of water on it to dampen it. Or put it above a boiling kettle (but not too long) Try rubbing it again.
Make sure you don't ruin you great dvd box set. You wanna make it last for a long time yet.
