I'm sure Pork and Plaw already know, but you can follow the league through Arsiva. JG... can you post the link? Thanks.

Why would you want to "follow the league"? Last time I looked, you're not in it.

Or are you opting for choice #3? (see above)

The link for the basketball game doesn't seem to be working. Or maybe I can't figure out how to access it. Let's wait for JG.

So far, it's me, JG, Spike, TM, Pat, and the very entusiastic DMC (lol)

Well, Arsiva's BBC link still works, but I have a feeling this site isn't being updated. I posted to their forums on Aug 8th and there hasn't been one post since then.

And since ESPN changed their game from VGM to whatever it is now, that link won't work.

Everyone ready? The interminable basketball season starts today!!!

Let's go, DoucheBag!

And, I HATE this new setup they have. Who needs all that fancy sh!t that makes it more confusing to see WTF is going on?! And in my Firefox browser the display is all screwed up.

That sure sounded encouraging to DB

Remind him what a great time we had last year.

Remind him how basketball fills the boring weekdays in between football games, and how it fills the boring months of February and March when there is no football at all, and baseball hasn't started yet.

Remind him how you nosed him out for second place in the playoffs on the very last day, and how is honor is at stake.

Tell him how it just won't be the same without him, and how I need the competition.

Oh....And as far as the new site goes, I think it's swell. Nice color pictures of the players and everything.

Bad draft + injuries = bad season.

I WON our Super Bowl last year, and THAT no one can take away from me, ever!!!

Yeah I know what you mean, I have 4 fantasy football teams and all 4 I had 10th pick. BUT get this, one of my teams has Culpepper, Owens, Moss and Edgerin James with corey Dillon. Mike Vanderjact kicker and Baltimore Defense, make any sense to you? it doesn't to me lol

That's pretty amazing for 10th pick!

Last year we had less teams -- 8 I think. I was 8th pick. And I ended up with an awesome lineup. Not the best, but, an awesome lineup. (Portis, R Moss, etc). I wasn't even the best team, but made the playoffs, and, somehow beat out both opponents for the title.

This year? No, not so much....

Damn, Plaw! I was waiting for his first results to say, "no, that's not decent - another 20 pts woulda done it! lol "

But "decent" for Plaw is like 99.9%ile... I'd say 100+ is pretty damn "decent".

Well, you can be fairly certain that you won't have a decent score tonight, DMC.

This is a daily game. The same format as baseball. You're supposed to change your roster every day, picking only players who are playing that day.

So it looks like you'll be starting about 100 points behind. Don't worry, though. It's a looooong season. :p

Don't know plaw... I gave him the link to this thread. Maybe he should get to know you guys...

Pork (JG) - The Don of these boards; He's #1 on the boards... and #3 in fantasy sports (usually!) :p

Plawrence (PL) - I usually trade first place with him in most games. Has an affinity to baby wipes.

Spike (SP) - Played last year and hoping he plays all the way through this year. Shown that he has some trash talking moxie in the fantasy football thread.

DonMichaelCorleone (DM?) - He's has 428 teams in 112 fantasy games. lol.

Tony Mosrite (TM) - Played last year. Disappeared since. Now he's back.

Pat (PP?) - Eminem nut. Kerry nut. Works at Arby's.

Hey plaw... you giving out odds this half?

Man, I'm glad you reminded me.....

PL: Has to be considered the favorite once again. Won the first half last season, finished second to his MWA (DB) in the second half, won the non-mythical Overall Points Championship, and is an all around good guy, although his humor can be a little too dry for some at times. Almost a lock to finish first or second.
Odds: 2-1

DB: The usual second choice. Finished second in last year's first half, first in the second half, and second in overall points. His season was marred by his incredible last day collapse (read: choke) in the playoff round, when he allowed JG to sneak in for second. Has to learn to use the Bobby Suras and Marquis Daniels' of the world, though. Should finish no worse than second.
Odds: 5-2

SP: Surprise pick to finish third based on his vow that "JG is going down, because I'm not going to miss any days this year." The missed days killed him last season, though, so we'll have to see. The key to his season may be doing his homework on time so his mother doesn't punish him by making him stay off the internet. When I was a kid, "No T.V." was the punishment. I guess times have changed.
Odds: 4-1

JG: The only thing he has going for him is that he'll be there every day to change his team. His problem is the players he picks. Admittedly knows nothing about basketball, but plays only for the Uber points (Whatever they are). Not a threat to crack the top two.
Odds: 6-1

DM: Would probably have rated him higher , except since he only has one player going tonight, he'll be basically starting the season about 100 points behind lol. Still, he's a serious fantasy player, and he's all excited about finally getting into a game for a whole season lol. Could see him as high as third if he shows real talent, but in this highly competitive league his 100 point deficit will make it impossible for him to finish any higher lol.
Odds: 7-1

DB's Brother: We'll have to come up with a two letter ID for him...CB (Chinese Buffet)? BB (Brother Bigelow)? DT (Douche Two)? Let the commish decide. The real question is, is DB bringing in a ringer? An older brother? Hmmm...a more experienced fantasy player? Does "older" equal "smarter"? Always hesitant to rank an unknown quantity too high, though, but DB sent me a PM asking me not to rate him too low. Didn't want Big Brother to be emabrrassed, I guess.
Odds: 10-1

PP: Played the second half last year, or at least started to play, and showed nothing. Could be different this year. Since the election coincides with the start of the season, he won't be able to use his involvement in political discussions as an excuse. If Kerry wins today, it could psyche him up. But if Bush wins, he could lose heart early. In either case, can't see him any higher than 5th.
Odds: 20-1

TM: To the extent that these things can be certain, he's about as certain to finish in the bottom two as anyone. Played last year and dropped out early. His roster for opening night (all Pistons) indicates that he's a real "Homer" who's not playing to win, but just to have fun. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm sure they cut grass, grill, chase girls, and hang flower baskets in Peru or Chile or wherever he's from, too. An FS in the making? No threat at all.
Odds: 50-1

In my defense, I was playing for 1st, not 2nd!
