You're a rookie, aren't you plaw? What is this - your 2nd year?

I have never seen anyone drop and add like you. You added a guy on Monday and then dropped him on Tuesday? The guy played and scored on Sunday. You once said you would do anything to win? Does this include putting all the available players you can on waivers to keep others from getting them?

No? Good.

I hope the Commish keeps an eye on you!

I had my reasons.

And IMO, anything short of collusion with another player is fair.

Suppose I want to make a trade with someone, and I want to be able to offer him a wider choice of players that he can select from my roster at a position which I think he is weak at.

Wouldn't it make sense for me to try to acquire the best available players that I could at that position so that I could prevent him from picking them up and strengthen my argument for him to make the trade?

And if he declines to make the deal, doesn't it make sense for me to dump that player or players because I am now overloaded at that position and weak elsewhere?

What's wrong with that?

Nothing.

For normal people.

The person who wants to win at any cost will go into a poker game and will sit so close to you, they try to gander peeks at your cards, ramble on aimlessly to distract you from the game and often will come this close to misdealing the cards (flipping) when it is their turn without actually misdealing. While none of that behavior is illegal, it is unethical and noone who is a true poker player WANTS to play with someone like that.

A fine line.

Hey, I was just asking a question. To be honest, had any of the other players done the same thing - I wouldn't have even wondered about it.

I just don't want to see 50 players tied up on waivers at the end of the week because of you.....

Hey, I was just asking a question. To be honest, had any of the other players done the same thing - I wouldn't have even wondered about it.

I just don't want to see 50 players tied up on waivers at the end of the week because of you..... [/b][/quote]Well, your poker analogy is interesting, as I am, as you know, a serious poker player.

I consider trying to look at another's card to be totally unethical. However, I don't play in "home" games, only in casinos, and when I'm sitting next to some drunk who's flashing his cards all over the table, I see nothing wrong with looking, particularly since other players may be seeing them also.

"Aimless rambling" is never a part of a casino game while the hand is being played. If there is a player who is just going on and on, the dealer usually asks him politely to shut up.

Also, since casino games always have a dealer provided by the house, misdeals are not a factor. But I would consider someone who comes close to deliberately misdealing to be cheating, just as I would someone who always intentionally shortchanges the pot.

Let me ask you this: Is it unethical, or does it border on cheating in your opinion, to watch the other players closely for "tells" - signs or subconscious signals about the strength of their hand?

If someone has a mannerism that is always evident in a seven card stud game when they buy the 7th card that they are looking for, or in the way they handle their chips when they are bluffing, and I pick up on that mannerism and am able to take advatage of it, am I doing anything wrong or unethical?

I would think not. And how different is that from the player who intentionally babbles on during play to try and distract the other players? It's part of the psychological warfare that is part of poker.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I would say that if Yahoo was worried about 50 players being tied up on waivers, they should have a rule that limits the number of transactions a player can make each week or something.

I wouldn't think that rule would ever have to be enforced. In my many years in this game, I have never seen anyone deliberately put players on waivers to screw opponents.

Look, you answered the question. You are not using that as strategy. The horse is dead and bloody already!

Getting back to Biz - Ness here.

First - This game SUCKs I don't think I'm playing next year.

Second - as mentioned earlier Curtis Martin and Ron Dayne Give me a break

Third - Mike Vick ?? He sucks, PL I'll give you my waiver slot for him.

Fourth - Pork - what a WUSS, getting beat by a 'chick'.

Fifth - DB - what a WUSS, getting beat by

Lastly - after a frustrating first week, thankfully I get to play Da Brit in Week 2. Looking at the standings, I see that Turi is often where is when with his boys after a night at the PUB - Bringing Up The Rear

At least this week I play someone that I can joke and talk trash with. It is really not about winning but having fun talking trash.

Of course I say that now since I am not winning

Turi - you have your Pittsburg players playing against a tough and angry Ravens defense in Balt., tough game for them.

Aaah, you're not as confident and cocky now are you Big "all talk" Daddy Don. I think you're worried now, after the thought of losing to me must be worrying.

Fair point about the Pitt - Balt game, the final touches wont be made yet as i'm sure you're gonna need to change your team.

WUSS this

And regarding your game this week with RB - that should be an easy game for you now - his team just shot their load in last week's game.

Bring on Week 10!!

Of course no bets during that week - if I lose I have to owe something and if I win - well payoffs never come.

You get tired reading quite often. Is it a struggle? You should save your energy for week twos team, this board is obviously too much for you.

Wow, this thread has become rather good reading.

Keep up the good work people.

Gee Pee, Someone is always trying to pick on you for the way you play. You are going to get a bad report in your file. This person does not play well with others.

Making use of loopholes, now Pee be nice. To win at all costs, but upset the other players? Bad Move.

I am begining to think that Pee was a lawyer in his past life.

Yo Yo YO - Commissioner Welsher. How are the playoffs setup, is it the first four teams that make it?

And if so for those with the same record is the tiebreaker head to head or total points ?

Damn, I'm in 8th place - that sucks.

Good thing I got Turi this week. :p

You can change that if you want, right?

Seems to me that the Wuss may have a point, as much as I hate to admit it.

Head-to-head should be the first tiebreaker.

If it's someone you played twice, and the games were split, it should be whoever scored more points in those two games.

Then, total points, etc.

Just my .02; You're the Commish.

Hmmmm... Although I don't care either way, I tried to see if I can even change the tiebreak system. It doesn't look like I have this option.

Watch it Freddie C. - sounds like PL is ready to setup a trade. You probably don't know him yet but he is 'Unethical'.

And to top it off - he is a Wuss. :p

But I will state that unlike ONE other - he is NOT a Welsher.

If a trade proposal goes through and if it is not a total screwjob to PL - I am gonna veto.

A number of you have been asking, so here is our league's trade system:

The formal Yahoo trade procedure is as follows:

If you go to your team page, you'll see this message:

• Trade: Pending trade between Black Car Drivers and Playaz Football Club (or whoever is doing the trade)

This is followed by a link "details".

If you click on it, you'll find out who each player is trading and towards the bottom, there is something that you can click on "Vote Against Trade".

If 1/3 of the league (4 in our case) clicks on that, the trade will be vetoed. I'm also allowing people to voice their opinions on the GBB as well.

Since this is a custom league, in the end, I really have the final say. (Bwa ha ha ha )

My view on trades is that if there's no collusion or if it wasn't a mistake, I won't overrule it.

I'm certainly going to object to trades that are greatly unfair, but I'll rely on the 1/3 vote for that.

Trades to report... Voice your opinions here.

Trade 1:

Plaw giving Michael Vick (QB, Falcons) and Andre Johnson (WR, Texans).

FC giving Joe Horn (WR, Saints) and Kyle Boller (QB, Ravens).

This slightly favors FC, but Vick was expendable to Plaw and he gets a major upgrade in WR.

Trade 2:
RB giving Matt Hasselback (QB, Seahawks) and Peter Warrick (WR, Bungles)

IM giving Eddie George (RB, Cowboys). IM will release Billy Cundiff (K, Cowboys) to make a roster spot.

4 words... Are you kidding me?
