The onlt time it helps to know the other guy's picks is if you're chasing the leader and you want to be sure to pick a different team or if you are the leader and you want to try to pick the same team as the guy who is chasing you.

I think it's a little early for you to start playing defense.

Unfortunately, though, PP and OA, who had the highest scores yesterday failed to pick a new team today

I dunno...maybe we should throw out the first two days, and, assuming that PP and OA pick teams for Monday, only use the scores from yesterday and today to determine the standings among the four of us.

In other words, DB would have 2 points added to his score when the game is over, JG +3, and SP +4, plus or minus whatever the differnces in our scores are for today.
Those points couldn't be "used" to pass any other players, just us four.

I don't know if I explained that very well, but lemme know what you think JG & DB. If you think it's a good idea, I'll PM and email PP and OA and tell them not to lose heart. But if they don't pick a new team for Monday, I say too bad and we'll just let the scores stand as they are.

Man, I never realized how much work there was in being a commissioner. First Feb 29, now this....

Aren't you the one who insisted on manually overriding that one day that the system screwed up and they decided not to count? Well, I'd rather not do that again (well, the opposite of that). Everyone had a chance to set their rosters like everyone else...

If we did this "start over" thing, I'd want the original scores added back in. Not +1, +2, etc.

You're the commish. I just prefer using the official numbers.

If we only use Sat & Sun scores to determine the standings among the four of us who played both days, it doesn't make any difference if we add in the total scores, or a +/-.

As far as anyone else missing a day during the course of the game, too bad. This is a special situation because the site was so screwed up.

As far as OA and PP and their excuses go, we could also just say "screw 'em". Obviously, they didn't read this thread to find out what was going on.

Now that I've said that, I'm thinking maybe we should just forget the whole idea of trying to help them. I'm just trying to be fair and make a better, more competitive game with more players, but if they didn't take the time to read this thread, TS.

Here's another problem with giving PP and OA a free pass. What do we do with TM?

The more I think about it, the more inclined I am to say we should just go with the official totals and play on, especially since PP and OA still haven't been seen around here.

I say we should just follow what ESPN standings. If there is a huge outcry from players for those first two days -ESPN will make the official ruling about what to do.

Man, a 20 point lead or so in this game is gonna be like gold. There won't be any days when someone can make up 30-40 points in one shot, especially as teams get eliminated. It seems like every day you can pick the guys with the highest VAvg and still be waaaay under the cap.
