Doubleheader turns to single game at Yankee Stadium
September 6, 2004 BRONX, New York (Ticker) - Monday's scheduled doubleheader between the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and New York Yankees has turned into a single game due to travel problems.
The Devil Rays had difficulty flying out of the Tampa-St. Petersburg area Monday morning in the aftermath of Hurricane Frances, which forced them to postpone home games on Saturday and Sunday. They are currently en route to New York and are expected to arrive at Newark Airport at 5:40 p.m. EDT.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. EDT.
