I'm bored. This is usually my time to do my initial setup of my roster. Not really although I will admit I enjoyed the camaraderie (well until the last day or so) and I even got into the trash talking piece - although just a small bit very near the end. But it was getting to be a bit of work, as you find yourself in the thick of a few races - some time during the day some time at night, it will be nice to get that time back I will admit. And I also have to thank Pork and Satan and SC for the morning and nightly updates, I understand that doing so took some time and it was handy to have. It is only a shame that I can't type this all in bronze letters. Boo-yah - third place, and a few more days I would have knocked PL's sorry a$$ back to down to third also and been typing in silver. :p The Pork and I had quite a battle going the last few days - he leapfrogs me with 3 games to go, I leapfrog him with 1 and it was down to the wire on the last day. So I will take my bronze medal - without an * as someone had to in the first half and be happy. And as PL told me in a PM - you could tell the really good players in the second half they all got over 3,500 points. All the rest were - how did you say it? - scum bag losers. Or something like that.

Don't worry PL, I felt nothing but love from your congratulatory post! :p I'm sure that you are quite surprised yourself, since you certainly weren't playing to win, but simply for the fun and enjoyment of the game.Heck yeah, I was playing for fun and enjoyment. No, that's not it, what I was really playing for was The Kiss poster. And if you're one of those who found me to be arrogant and hard and who felt that the game "took a big part of me away" as, supposedly, many of you noticed, well, please accept my apologies for that. That's nothin', I lost a finger on the last day trying to set my defensive strategy team. [By the way, I didn't found you neither arrogant nor hard. You were a worthy opponent, my friend.] And if I ignored your good nights and streaks, my compliments for your terrific pitching run notwithstanding, then I also apologize for that. This is the only thing I got against you... trying to jinx my pitching staff run.

Here's my Oscar speech... First off, I would like to thank all you for making each day fun and enjoyable. I check this thread before anything else in the day just to make sure I didn't miss any banter from the night before. I feel that I've made some great friends in this mini-board of ours and I look forward to beating those involved in fantasy football. (The last part was a joke... kind of! :p ) Thank you Pork and Plaw for posting morning and nightly scores. You guys are great. You know I would have helped if I wasn't in Central time (or took more pee breaks! ) I would like to mention that all of you were great competitors. A special shout-out to the Doubleheader league (and SC) who played almost everyday for both halves, especially you Plaw. I could really tell you were doing the work to try to catch up, and believe me, I was feeling the pressure. It made me pick up my game more. This thing was a marathon. FS, you were mastering the fun-da-mentals at the end. What were you doing picking those doubleheaders at the end? :p I, personally, am one of those who play to win. If you play to have fun and you accomplished that, then good for you. Whatever floats your boat, man. Alright, enough of this mushy stuff. I'll write my end of the year awards and predictions later.

Yes, since there is no medal for FIFTH place, at least I got a nice bronze in the overall standings - which is all that really matters anyway, right? Plus I noticed I led the Week in points. Wow, if only we had a couple more weeks, I think I could have made it back up the ladder! Congrats DoucheMan. I'm ready to play all over again....

Here are my awards for the second half: MVP: Ummmm... I hate to nominate myself- seems kind of stupid- so I'll leave this spot open. I'll nominate Pork and PL for doing the scoring and PS updates. Comeback Player of the Half: I agree with JG. Plaw came from a long way back. Trash Talker Award: It would have to go to Bad Daddy. In terms of consistency, I think he takes it. Slowed down at the end, but that's only because Plaw told him that he had no chance of winning so why bother! :p Oops, was I not supposed to tell anyone. Rookie of The Half: We didn't have any rookies. For the Overall, it goes to Plaw since it is all our first year playing and he won the overall. Player Most Likely to Change his ISP: Pork. Damn ISP cost him a chance at first place. Potential Surprise Player Next Year (if we play!): Bad Daddy. He showed us some consistency in the 2nd half climbing all the way up to third place. Other than myself, Player Most Likely to Win Next Year: None of us. Nobody is playing this freaking game again! Where is that waving guy? :p

A look back at my old predictions... Player Most Likely to Fizzle and Burn: Plaw. After his deal with the devil to get JKidd back, I predict a 5th place finish for . Go Nets! Hmmm... Plaw finished in second place. That's pretty good considering his deal. Must have made another deal, didn't you Plaw! :p Player Most Likely to Have a Curse Named After Her: Bethie. The first half, the Bethie curse really didn't do any damage, save a few points here and there. Come second half, we will all see the full brunt of this dreaded curse. As Kurtz said, "The horror... The horror..." You guys notice that I started doing well when Bethie left... Hmmm.... How Many Days it will Take Bad Daddy to Complain About Picking the Wrong Pitching Staff: 2I just looked. He complained on the first day. How Many Days it will Take Pork to Complain About Picking the Wrong Pitching Staff: 1 See Bad Daddy prediction. I was right on this one. How Many Woody and Wood References We Will Have in the 2nd Half: 342Not as many this half. We had references to stimulators, killing a waving guy, and "honey." Wood must be down. By the way, Wood will give the Braves as much as they can handle tomorrow. How Many Times Plaw will complain about the innuendo: 2 More. Definitely more. Player Most Likely to Invite the Youngsters into the Game: FathersonNot this time. I'll nominate FS as the Player Most Likely to Argue with PL. :p Player Most Likely to Lose His Curse in the 2nd Half: SC. I see SC spending Plaw-esque amount of time in this game for the second half.Nope. He spent all that time coming up with one-liners!

This really sucks.... 1) The game is over, and I didn't win the second half 2) No team to pick tonight (Hey, hey I'm a junkie) 3) Looks like ESPN doesn't have a Fantasy Playoff Game, either 4) I didn't win the second half 5) I miss everyone already 6) I'm doing lousy in both football games 7) FS isn't around to bait and argue with 8) I thought you were all my friends, and then I find out that you all thought I was arrogant and hard 9) 184 days until April 1st, when we can all start playing again 10) I didn't win the second half

Alas, I don't see any postseason game either. They had one every year. But I'm gonna keep checking http://games.espn.go.com/ -- maybe they'll add one late (tho that would suck). The Playoff Challege was located here , but it still says 2002  In that game I ended up at only 48.12% cuz most of my players were Yankees... You had to pick a roster that you thought would last from day one to the end of the world series. Quite impossible. But you got a discount for 5 teams (rosters)... and I still did lousy

You know, I'm thinking (always dangerous)...
The salary cap values are still up there. We could do our own fantasy playoff game with the same format. The only problem is "Roster Security", i.e. how do you keep your roster a secret from everyone else until the picks are locked?
We'd need a volunteer to act as commissioner and not play. Everyone could PM him or her their team each day. All they'd have to do is post them. I'd be happy to keep the stats.

Everyone ???
Yeah, everyone. I love a good argument. I've been accused of arguing just for sport. To which I reply, "Who, me?" I just always make sure to pick my opponents carefully. You won't see me getting into any arguments with Alan Dershowitz or Johnny Cochrane.

Besides, I don't think we'd get everyone ready in time (1pm ET tomorrow) - and - the research would be much more difficult w/o seeing the numbers in front of us like before. I don't know... I'll gladly play an ESPN-hosted playoff game, if there is one, but maybe it's time to hang it up and worry about pigskin a bit more Just my thought.

Seems official totals changed a bit. Here are the Final Results of the Second Half: Interestingly, Bad Daddy never won a week, yet was able to pull off Third Place. I guess he'd get the Most Consistent award for the Second Half. And, for prosperity sake, here are the results of the First Half one more time:

You must have a lot of free time on your hands now .... :p Actually since my actual ranking was lower I wanted that posted. 1891 97.5% Reality is I don't really care what is as long as it is better than Pork and Buffy.
