I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THIS...
I CAN'T PLAY TOMORROW... WANNA KNOW WHY??? EARLIER TODAY, I HAD PICKED MY ENTIRE ROSTER. FINE AND DANDY. LATER IN THE AFTERNOON, I REMEMBERED THERE WAS A D-H TOMORROW IN PITTSBURGH. I CHECKED THE WEATHER, AND IT LOOKED NASTY, SO, BEFORE SWAPPING ALL MY OFFENSE, I DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL TONIGHT TO SEE IF THE D-H WOULD BE POSTPONED UNTIL SATURDAY... MADE SENSE... ALTHOUGH... I HAD ALREADY CHANGED MY PS TO THE CUBBIES -- NOT REALLY REALIZING THAT I HAD GONE OVER MY SALARY CAP.
I GET HOME ABOUT 2:30 -- A HALF HOUR BEFORE THE DEADLINE -- AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INTERNET ACCESS. NO CABLE. NO DIAL-UP. FUCK!!
I KEEP TRYING AND TRYING, NO ACCESS. IT COMES TO 2:58AM AND I'M SWEATING!! WTF?!?!?!
FUCKING... 3:02AM... I GET ACCESS BACK.
TOO FUCKING LATE. MY ROSTER IS OVER-CAP, AND LOCKED. I GET A BIG, FAT, FUCKING ZERO TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!!!!
WTF?
I AM SO FUCKING MAD, IT'S NOT FUNNY.
AND, RIGHT NOW, I AM NOT LAUGHING WHEN I SAY, I HATE THIS FUCKING GAME!!!!!
(ALL CAPS INTENDED, OF COURSE)

Fucking 3:02!!!! 2 minutes!!!! And, I don't even know how I did tonight. 2 fucking minutes... And 2 freakin' weeks left, to try to make up for it. I can't wait 'til this is over, so I can concentrate on football...

I had a similar experience.
I picked mt team during the day yesterday, and had the Cubs PS, plus Sosa, Ramirez, Wilson, etc.
After seeing the weather forecast before going to bed, I decided to set my alarm for 2:30 and redo my team if the forecast was the same.
Same thing; no access. I re-booted twice before getting back on at about 2:53. Also panicking and sweating. I switched my PS to the Dodgers, which immediately put me over the cap, and started changing players. I was stll over the cap at about 2:59, so I reduced by taking Endy Chavez in CF, for 3.4. Even if the game is played, he wouldn't figure to play anyway (lefty vs. Glavine).
I ain't happy with my team for tomorrow, but I sure feel your pain (seriously, man).
Solace is, I think I saw DB with Sosa and Ramirez. The DH is (hopefully) a lock to be rained out.

It's funny about the 3 am deadline. As I was changing guys around, I put Ledee in CF, which freed up soom room, so I put Perez in at catcher for Olivo.
But it must have been after 3, so those two guys appear on Saturday's roster, but not Friday's.
When I looked at your Friday roster, I couldn't figure out why you had the Cubs PS with no one else from the DH. I didn't realize you were over the cap.

I don't mean to sound like a whiny bitch, so I'm not even gonna say another word about it. It's finished. Put me in for a zero tomorrow. And I'll try to gear up my slumping (for the past 1+ weeks) ass and see what I can do the next two weeks. That's all I can do now. Enjoy 2nd place. I don't deserve it. PS: PL and BD - Give me your addresses in PM or email so I can send your posters -- Buffy finally got hers

I love the "...it's great. All you gota do is..." part. I heard that... Last night was probably the toughest choice this whole season. I may have even slipped into the FS range of research- 30 - 45 minutes! Seriously though, the rain was messing with my mind last night, as everyone's, it looks like. Putting in the Sosa, Ramirez and Stairs was a hedge on my part... It was the three I thought people would most likely pick, so I figured it would be a wash. With rain at a 40% chance by evening, I figured they might get one game in, so at least they'll have the same number of at-bats as those who picked non east-coast games. Finally, since over the last few days, I've been picking at least 3 guys who didn't even play, I figured, "what's the difference?" Pork, sorry about your internet problem last night. It's been fun duking it out with you and PL these last few weeks, and that's the last thing I wanted to happen to either of you... Don't know how feels, though...

OK, Buffy, I'm over it. Back to business.
You did absolutely the right thing loading up on the DH, whether intentional or not. In your position, you should be going all out and taking every chance you can to get as many points as possible.

It is too soon to tell who did the "right" thing today. The only person we KNOW did not do the right thing was Pork. I have no doubts about what I have done. Of course it was intentional. You are right, it is time to take drastic measures and pull out all the stops. No time for me to be conservative. All I was saying is I would love the opportunity to have the time to contemplate tweaking as the deadline looms at night but I rarely have that opportunity anymore. I've been here all week crowing about baseball. You had ample opportunity to razz me about football. As Joe Pesci said in the marvelous poolroom scene in MY COUSIN VINNIE: "I can always use a good ass kicking". If someone would open the much talked about Fantasy Football Thread already, I'd be happy to check in in Mondays to get my lumps.

I THOUGHT about taking the Cubbies too until I saw the stats for the guy in Game 2 who is NOT Zambrano and got a bit freaked. And talk about famous last words. As I was rostering yesterday, I said to myself...Jason Bay? WHO IS Jason Bay? Add one scrub with a good wind blowing out = points galore. And for the record, I hardly take Sosa and I didnt want him today either (I really wanted Sanders - but healthy) but I figured he might at least hit ONE homer. C'mon Sammy, be a bud!

Wow, do I know how to pick 'em or what? At one point this evening, I peeked and saw my score hovering around 78 in only the 2nd or 3rd inning of my game. I must be born under a bad sign. Ooops. I share that sign with SC and the himself.... I can't believe it. Sixty-two offensive points. Final score 61. I was gonna say I'm not playing next year. Now I am thinking next Spring can't get here fast enough! At least I am in 1st place in football. After I crush Big Daddy and make him cry for his mommy, I will be 3-0

Good thing I didn't go w/ the Cubbies, huh? -- my $51.5 roster woulda totalled at -4 ... I made 4 pts by not playing!!

My compliments, DB. You played it exactly right. Gonna be tough to catch you now.
My "Roster I Would Have Had If I Didn't Change It At The Last Minute Because I Was Afraid Of A Hurricane" only scored 46.
I'll console myself with the overall standings
