I received a communication from Mr. Schmidt this morning, which I will quote in part herein:

"I hope you don't think I let you down last night. The first two innings were a little rocky, but I think I settled down nicely.

You can't reasonably expect more than 27 points on a given day, just as you certainly cannot expect the 33 points that the prick Hallady got."

I ain't complaining; I barely lost any ground because of everyone's putrid offense. I figure I got off lucky last night.
