Crap! Big Daddy is within 6 points of me again. No matter what I do, I CANNOT get out of this 4th place spot.

Everytime he gets this close, I tell myself this is the day I move down to 5th place and sit on pins and needles till it is all over.

Looking at the lineups today....today COULD be the day...

WE of the single header league lost all our hopes by missing the double headers. Still we have no one to blame but ourselves and that is part of the game overall.

I don't kick myself to hard as I figure I have hung in there and showed better then I thought I would most days!

This is a game that you get out what you put in. Spend little time and it hits you where it hurts. Spend lots of time and you will do better but still can have things bite you in the ass.

Next to a dating realationship this is the next best torture there is!

I thought for sure that one of the "Doubleheader" division picked Atlanta. Sadly, only JJ had Atlanta on his staff, but he's already firmly implanted in second to last place. No, I don't wish negative points on you guys, but I just wanted to see the whining aftermath!

Another thing... I was watching the Cubbies game last night. Talk about conflict... On the one hand, I wanted the Cubbies to win pretty badly. On the other hand, I didn't mind if the Expos put up a couple of more runs. :p

So I compromised and before the ninth inning, I told myself that it would have been OK with me if the Expos hit a homer. What do you know!

That was the most pathetic excuse for a baseball game as I've ever seen. I think after awhile the Atlanta defense was just standing in the outfield, spitting out their sunflower seeds and praying for rain or something. I've always said their ps sucked. Now I have living proof. Bobby Cox was probably left speechless with that debacle.

General Random Thoughts to Start off the Day to get rid of those pesky crickets...

- What exactly is Monty Python? I've never seen any of the films. Also, what is a National Lampoon?

- How great would it be for an all Chicago World Series! I mean this city would absolutely go berserk. Also, it will take our attentions away from the Bears.

- I just bought The Recruit. Any of you seen it? Al Pacino was great in it and Briget Moynihan is absolutely hot.

- I still wish that one of you had Atlanta last night!

- Some pretty key pieces of Iggles defense might be out next week. I hope I have a good backup defense. Care to share any news, Bad Daddy!

- Does a hit-by-pitch count as a point (as a base) in our game?

- Congrats Bethie on your 3003rd post! Nice and symmetrical!

- Plaw has been conspicuously absent lately. Must be putting in some late hours on his book "How I Expect to Do Really Well in Pigskin Pick'em".

- Johan Santana is the second half's C.C. Sabathia.

- I will never pick Dontrelle (unless I do).

- The Bears will be lucky to win 5 games this year.

Speaking of guys with bulls eye's on them, Melvin Mora got hit for the 12th time this year yesterday. Again on his hand. Is this guy just accident prone? The Orioles aren't that great that someone would intentionally keep hitting one of our good players.

So I wake up this morning - busy morning so far and I see I moved into 4th place - all by me lonesome. And contrary to popular belief I am NOT here to gloat nor trash talk to Buffy - I am way above that. See I understand that Buffy takes her sports very seriously and that she is an avid baseball fanatic. I, on the other hand have given up on baseball in 1993 when the Phils last went to the World Series, I could hardly tell you anyone on any other team before I can snookered into this stupid ass game. So NO - I will not point out the fact that this novice baseball following is beating her in her own game - NO I won't do that. Secondly I will continue to take the high road because I also understand that this has been a very rough week for Buffy. She had the embarrassing situation of getting kicked out of not 1 but 2 survivor pools - (desperate to the point of wanting all to start over, some Loser Pool or something like that) and is so far down the bottom of the Pigskin Pickem, her and PL can waterproof the basement together. And NO I will not mention to her that HH who is not even playing has more points than her this week. Nope can't do that and won't do that. And as part of me taking the high road - instead I will offer some advice to Buffy, something that I often think about when I am down and blue - in the hopes that in some small way it helps.
