I'm back. Spending time with the family is great, but man, it is tiring. Let me see... after sifting through a couple of pages of missed posts... - Great stats, plaw! And it has to be said one more time... I can't believe how much Buffy spends on her pitching staff for so little! :p - FS, since no one answered your question (at least in the answers you wanted ), I find the catcher position most frustrating because those pansies think they can take a day off any time they want. - Here's a tip, FS: Day Game after Night Game. I haven't quite mastered that one yet. - I did know about the doubleheader today, but I had no time to change to change my team all day. I think I changed my 2nd baseman very early in the morning and that's it. Just to let you know, skies are lookin' mighty cloudy here in Chicago! - Moving day tomorrow! Whoo hoo! - Bad Daddy, what's wrong with Randy McMichael? At least he ain't injured! But who am I to talk, I took Mike Vick! By the way, he's worth the risk at the 100th pick.

I think that comes from really being a Dodger fan at heart. I know I have taken the Dodgers PS more than anyone here trying to go with my gut. Most times they don't let me down, but there have been a few days.... Good luck with your move tomorrow, DB. Don't forget to christen the place when you are done in some unique and memorable fashion. I've got some ideas if the jet lag has left you blank And there is NOTHING wrong with Randy McMichael. Had you not picked before me, he would be mine. So there. Who knew picking out a tight end would be so much fun?

Do you ever check out your "Scoring Summary"? You've actually done very well with the Dodgers: 7 games, 5-2, 1.66 ERA, 173 Pts. (24.7 PG) It's ben the D.Back's who are killing you: 6 games, 3-3, 4.23 ERA, 63 Pts. (10.5 PG)

Why the fvck are only THREE of my 6 d-h players playing?? I can see the catcher not, fine, but WTF Simon and Lofton?? I NEVER would've taken these two schmucks if they weren't gonna play both games!!!

Interesting strategy there, Plaw... you pick the Cubs PS and have 3 Cubs offensively... and 4 of StLou's best hitters? But, so far it's working for you... you have 14 pts of offense and I have 2

Here's a tip, FS: I think we've all concluded that picking players against your pitching staff only works if those players get extra base hits or the runs they score are unearned.

Since I live 2.5 minutes from home, I had the pleasure of taking my long lunch at home watching the Cubbies game (shouldn't surprise any of you that I have cable TV hooked up on my back porch outside so I can watch the game AND catch some rays - I'm a freak) It has worked out for me in the past to have the one offensive player or two that hits good against your pitcher. The other night, I knew the only threat against Kevin Brown was Bagwell and it worked out nicely offsetting the negative pitching points with postitive points. My hiney is bruised today though because although I applied that logic to today's game, I did not take Edmonds or Miller.
But remember Pork - there is still a whole 'nother game.... people will play there too.

Strategy Explanation: A doubleheader is different than a single game. I figured if the St. Louis hitters did OK, I'd get a lot of offensive points, and still get enough pitching points because there were two games instead of one. Like maybe two 12 or 13 point games, for a total of 25 or 26 pitching points. And if the St. Louis hitters did lousy, I'd pile up plenty of pitching points. And still, I'd have to get something on offense. I also figured that JG and LD would take the Cubs PS, so no matter what happened, that would be a wash. So I just went with who I thought were the best offensive players. And I certainly would have bet that Lofton wasn't gonna play both games. He's an old man. Edit: Quit complaining. You got four ABs out of Lofton, and he may very well play the second game

EDIT: THIS IS WHAT I WAS GOING TO POST With both offenses currently impotent and it keeps going the way it's going, what are the chances that they cancel today's second game and move it tomorrow? I don't remember that ever happening before. I know there was a Cleveland DH that had an extra inning 1st game this year (I think PL was the recepient of that piece of good luck... errr... skill ), but I think they played the 2nd game in that one. EDIT 2: Sammy's great!

Can't wait to see the second game lineups.
You definitely have an edge on me tonight, JG.

Tuesday:
Only 4% of ALL game players had Cubs PS for 74 pts. 0.70% had the Cards.
Fvck Jim Edmonds. Fvck McGruff. Fvck Mike Weeney. Fvck my "offense". And fuck all the others who had more than Sosa's 8 pts.
The most-picked (10.4%), overall, PS was Oak for only 41 pts
Very fvcked up day.

Total offense, combined, for both teams in the DH: 75 points To put that in perspective, that's 18.75 pts per team, per game. Obviously, you won't have much offense on a day when you're picking players from those teams. DH offense for us: PL 36 LD 25 JG 16
