Thanks Pl for the words. You are right, much has to with luck. Any given night things can go right or wrong. Just look at today, who plays, who didn't, who is sick or has a bug up there ass. I do find my weakness to be I know less then I thought about baseball and do not have or want to give some much time researching as much as you need to really do a good job. Christ, there is so much to look at, so many teams, when you figure you deal with the whole pie of teams and players. I feel I have a good base of players for day to day. Good values and by biggest problem is Mondays. Keep, Drop and dollar values. Not to mention usally crap matchup for PSs. At least with cards their are only 52 player with four teams to worry about. When you have a card you know its value and don't have to depend on its play to give you value, it is there. Pop, plays many places, but I don't believe he spends much time in New Jersey. His games are more what you call "Private" type groups with limits to high for this young guy or the usally family man. Please don't let me mislead you. He isn't a pro gambler, just a high stakes player who does very well for himself. Corporate boys who like to get together and leave business worries, wives and family behind and get down to the game for several hours at a time or weekend getaways. The dice seems to be more his game when out in a casino even though I have seem him roll the bones in a few private games. His biggest bitch is having to supply my mother with funds to keep her busy so he can enjoy himself. The other thing is he hates baseball. Bastards went on strike and he never forgave them. Still have to find a PS for Monday- Got any good hints? Drop me a hint!

No apologies necessary, JG.
When I checked the box score and play by play early last evening, I knew that the last friggin' 5 runs that SD scored were earned, and that the PS total for Florida was wrong.

Morning Folks, I see inflation has set in on the old Fantasy Baseball selection list. I was looking for some play in the players so I would have more to spend, but I guess not. Every one good goes up up up and those that suck go down down down I couldn't pick up one dollar on the monday morning shift, in fact most of my players when up, making them that much harder to drop without giving me chest pains! It gets to the point where you hate to give up a player because of his value, only to replace him with another less valuable person for one day. Makes you feel like you are sliding backwards. Dam that has to be the worst decison for me. Just like you folks who had Sammy and he goes 0-4 or 0-5 every other dam day. Anyone every figure what he avgs. out to. Would it be better to have him give you 8 points one day and nothing the next or have a guy give you 3 to 5 points every day? Worst is thinking you have a great player and the son of a bitch doesn't play for what every reason that day. Makes you feel like you were screwed royal. This is what you mean PL about working alittle harder to find key guys at a lower price I guess. Any one have some antiacids? I think my tummy is feeling the pain!

I have an attention span of a gnat and get bored too easy. I have always maintained it makes the game more interesting when the values are higher because then not everyone has the same "heavy hitters" and it is a challenge to find those "diamonds in the rough" who can smack the ball out and the RBI's in for less money. Everyone can have an A-Rod, a Delgado, a Sosa. But when the values are this high, most people can only afford one, maybe two at the most and the challenge lies therein to find a cheaper slugger. More fun, I say

but I never have a problem letting people go. I have an attention span of a gnat and get bored too easy. Boy, I hope my girlfriend never gets that way! You are right there about finding new players helping getting more into the game. I will watch to see who gets rid of Sammy and who hangs on to him. Seven people had him last I looked. New players will not be so great every time out so there will be bigger highs and lows too. So we may bite the big one more. So if you get a bad PS and a bad bunch of players you will be behind some big numbers some days! Oh, this is to much work for me! Like I said before I now know how little I know about so many players and teams outside my home viewing area as much as I should to draw upon them in this game. I guess that is why you see so many west coast players on peoples team who live out there and so many east coast players on this side of the country.

Now THIS I agree with. I stand back and notice my completed roster sometimes and it sticks out that I have many west-of-the-Mississippi players AND/OR NL players only because I feel I know alot more about them. I don't do this deliberately, but when I look at the finished product it is pretty obvious. Congrats DoucheMan. Try to stay on top a while, man. It's a rush.

My game is also in the afternoon, which is better for me. Some of those late night games were killing me. Dam, it would be one thing if I was a book maker, but crap the prise here isn't worth killing yourself over. I know the Expos are a long shot, but I think I liked this game the best. Hell, if the Mutts can beat them twice and the Expos took last nights game there just may be a good shot as anything else. Crap some times I think you are better just picking names from a hat. ( as he throws salt over his shoulder) Like I said last week I will never understand how a last place dog team in the 400pct can beat a 640 pct team so often. Something does smell porky around here!

SC sure picked the right Mets for his offense.
Piazza, Reyes, Wigginton, and Phillips have 21 points between them thru 4 innings. The other 5 Mets in the starting lineup have 3.
At least the Colorado PS is minus 10.

What exactly are you hoping will happen here? Well, I shouldn't laugh cuz that'd jinx ME... but yeah, man, what were you thinkin'? (Hey, what can I say, I'm getting VERY negative tonight, freakin' Texas changing SP on me) Anyway - I, too, found myself loaded up: 4 Braves, 2 Rangers... Glad I at least picked the Mutt Phillips for 8+ points... at the expense of Colorado But, doesn't matter... Valdes sucks. My only hope is that even HE can handle Detriot!

SC's INTERESTING STRATEGIC MOVE
If it seems as thought I'm beating this horse to death, it's only because I find it interesting for some reason.
4 ofensive players from the Mets, 26 points Rockies PS, -13 points Net result, plus 13 points.
Was this sound strategy? Did it work? Was the move profitable? Here's the way I figure it:
A good day in this game is 60 points. ( offensive players, 4 at bats each, 36 at bats, one point for each at bat, 36 points in offense Add another 24 points for pitching .
60% of your points from offense 40% of your points from pitching.
So today, SC used 40% of his total for his PS, and 4 of his 9 offensive players, or 44% of the remaining 60%, or 26%. So he used 66% of his total to gain 13 points.
With about 20 offensive at bats left for his 5 players, on average he can expect another 20 points or so.
Which would leave him with a 33 point total for the day.
Now, if he had taken the Mets, PS......

But then I had a heard attack when that SP was replaced with a worse one! Egads... Luck... Yes, that's the right word! I have plenty of it - tho usually it's of the "bad" variety!

What do they say, Better lucky then good! Can't wait to see what PL has to say about that! Statistics, Odds, and now lucky options. I was happy with 52 points with three guys out of action on a monday, but dam you hit the old gold mine!
