Lewis pitch a great game, I have to admit that, but I am still not a happy camper!

That must be one of the fundamentals you mastered. :p

"Pick a lot of guys from the team opposing your pitching staff. That way, if you get a well pitched game, it hurts your offense. When you have a good offensive day, it hurts your pitching"

Of course, you could also look at it this way:

"I picked a pitching staff, but just in case it was a bad pick, let me throw a bunch of offensive guys from the other team on my roster. That way I cover myself"

Hmmmm, plawrence posted the rosters at 4:34, and then editted the list at 5:11. Thats a half hour pee break.

C'mon plawrence, tell the truth - your first name is really "lawrence" and the first initial is really an adjective, right? :p

Not a pee break, unfortunately. Couldn't sleep.

The "edit" was after 5 AM, when the scores became "official".

Yes a bad night and to little thought given when I picked a PS! That what happens when you do a quick pick and don't really look things over.
I had changed my 1B the day before when I finally realized that Jeff Connie wasn't up to playing anymore.

Real truth is I only had one Texas player on my team and two Soxs with a sox pitching staff. So it wasn't that I "Pick a LOT of guys from the team opposing your pitching staff".

The PSsI have been picking must be ok as many on our board are picking the same ones. So I guess we are all thinking wrong. Even the anouncers on last nights game was saying Lewis was pitching the game of his career and his numbers never showed any of this. Not that this made it any better but reinforced that I had chosen the right team against him on paper anyway.

"That must be one of the fundamentals you mastered" Boy you never let a guy live something down! Well, I do have the basics down, but need some help on the finer points of the game.
Oh Winner of the First Half , would you be my friend and help this poor boy. After all a great player like yourself can not be threaten by a basement dweller like me! Take a look at my team and let me know if you see anything majorly wrong! Take me up a step or two oh great one!
(Bowing with my hands in front of me) A man may never be know as great without helping those less fortunate then himself.

You know I looked at last nights events and I had 30 points from my team. Not to bad with Bill Mueller & Shannon Stewart both going 0-6 and 0-5 sure didn't help.
The Sox's putting me down -18 in the hole was the big stinker of the night.

Its a game of coulda, woulda, shoulda, FS.

Go figure, I had 3 BoSoxer's in my offense, and they gave me a total of ONE point, yet I still had the second best offensive night of anyone in our league. Sure, one or two of your hitters having an explosive night can make a big difference, but it really comes down to having the right ps on any given night.

I spent more time trying to decide on tomorrow's PS than probably any day this year! Ugh. Not happy with my pick - or any other pick I'd've taken. But you know what's even worse?? Take a look at Monday!

Had a great night tonight with 86 points. Helped me get my head in order.

Thanks SC for the words. This game doesn't have to be dog eat dog.

Trying to pick a PS within my money without getting rid of a good player is tuff. Not whining.

Next step is to look at Monday's PS just for the hell of it Geoff, I hope I can sleep after that.

Well, congratulations DB. Looks kind of funny to see you on top of the standings. First time, if I'm not mistaken.

Party. Celebrate. Trash talk. Hurl insults. Go crazy .

Enjoy yourself, fella. You won't be there for long.

Are you a baseball fan, AngelaMarie?

If you are, get in the game. We have an opening in the ladies auxilary.

You could name your team "The Dangerous Divas". Or how about "The Midwestern Chicks"?

Picking on only one girl all the time is no fun, although I will say she gives as good as she gets.

Yep, I'm a giver.

Hard to believe since I woke up this morning STILL in 5th place

Ok, I have counted to 10 and to hell with the jinx...

The only thing that could have given me greater joy yesterday than watching LA score 10 runs against the Cubbies would have been to watch them score 11. Sweet justice for what happened to ME the day before. Kept hoping Shawn Green would score the final RBI - sweet, sweet justice indeed.

Imagine after seeing the Oakland score yesterday of 6-4 how I felt later when I saw that only one run was earned! Nice.

I've been home all weekend so I truly have no excuse if I crash and burn this weekend....

Guys who took the Yankees- Great going. They pitched a great game. 38 Points from PS alone is a great start to a night.

My last pick and Mondays are a gamble, but what the hell I love a gamble. That is until it turns to shit and I kick myself for being so dumb! Just like not spend my bucks on a better PS.

Geoff, having a bad night can be put to a good use.
Head thru the threads and start banning those wise ass trouble makers! You will feel wondeful after that.

By the way have you noticed the same names on those problem threads. A short time out from the boards may REALLY send a message to them who just can't stay out of the fray! The others will take note and maybe fall in line.

By the way you can start with anyone who is above you/me on the Fantasy Baseball list!

Well.

I intended to respond your plea sooner, but, contrary to popular belief, I do have other interests and committments outside of our Fantasy Baseball League.

Let me say this. I have developed a set of criteria which I apply every day to my selections. Some of the criteria are, of course, more important than others.

Looking at your roster for the day in question yielded several picks in which you and I differed. But you did far better than I on that day. Which accounts for the "luck" element, which plays a large part here.

But for me to divulge, publicly, what my strategy is would be idiotic, don't you think? It has served me well through these many weeks, and I have no desire to give you or any of the other players any insight into my thinking.

I will, however, point out to you that my daily picks follow a consistent pattern. If you take the time to study them, and learn what those consistencies are, you will have learned on your own anything that I could tell you. In other words, do your homework.

So your father taught you poker, huh? Did he ever do any playing in Atlantic City? Perhaps he and I are acquainted.

This means A-rod gotta hit 2hrs t-night

Even though I already g'd all ya'll up this week

Hay- I turned on the Tv today & I saw the Pirates on & they were wearin blue unis & playin in Wrigley. It looks like we added some guys too. Alex Gonzolas has joined Aramis Ramirez & Randal Simon in the infield and get this--Sammy Sosa himself has joined Kenny(G)Loften in the outfield. I like the additions but why did the pirates change der unis???
