The lights in my building go off at 4:15.
By 4:25 we realize that most of the Northeast is experiencing a power failure.

Do I worry about my 14 year old son, home alone, with the possibility that his mother may not be able to make it home tonight? Nah. He's a big boy. He can take care of himself.

Do I worry about his mother, possibly stranded in Manhattan until who knows when? Nope. She's a big girl. She can take care of herself.

Do I worry about my 90 year old father, who, if he's outdoors, won't be able to walk up the seven flights of stairs to his apartment, and if he's in there already will be suffocating without air conditioning? Uh-uh. He has 90 years of experience. He can take care of himself.

So what am I worried about?

A) Will the Phillies game be postponed? and
B) How will I pick my team for tomorrow with my computer down?

Fortunately, though, all of the first three are OK, and I got home to good old Secaucus, NJ, and electricity.

Let others decide where you go to dine out... Just as long as it's not Mexican. Gives me indigestion.

Let them pick out your clothes, if they have good taste, of course... Definitely if the one picking is a girl. They usually have better taste than men.

Let them drive your car every now and then... It's about freaking time someone else drives.

Even with MY fuzzy math ability, I can see that today is going to be a mover/shaker day. Gotta root for my homeboy Dodgers - EVEN with that rookie pitching for them, gotta hope Green & Company can just hit till there is no tomorrow!! As for commercials? The other day I was arguing with my girlfriend over beer. She kept saying it tasted great. I said it was less filling. It got really heated, it was really embarrassing - before we knew it we were causing a scene fighting, clawing at our clothes and finally ended up in the pool half naked all over each other. You'd think those beer guys would advertise better the truth about their beers so us ladies would not have to put on such a public display....

You know I'm happy with my team, based on who I could get at what price and still get some good pitching most days. Sure I would love to have some major power added, but now they are getting out of reach and also sometimes they are all or nothing just like everyone else. 7 Million ( our price) for a guy is a whole lot of green in this game. Then you see the statistics and you see their real salary is 22 million, 15 million ect. Then you see them go 0-4 to or three times

You say to yourself for that price they should be killing the ball every time at bat! I know that doesn't happen but man this is still a game and to make that much playing a game/sport is something I will never understand.That why beer is $4.50 and $3.50 for a hotdog.
