How many people do you think put Boston's Bill Mueller on their teams today?

Fluke, fluke, fluke (one for each homer! ) He's been on my team off and on since last season. I'll do a Pork and say I almost picked him, but I didn't. :p

Don't forget- he's an ex-Cubbie. It will never happen again.

Cubs lose, 6 - 3. We got about an hour and a half for the first series of games to start.

Like many big hiters, it is all or nothing. Big stroke of the bat or strike out. Didn't the Mutts have a guy, Dave Kingman who was like that and there is nothing worst then waiting for him to drive in some runs and then S-T-R-I-K-E Out. Seems like everyone remembers the heat not the out!

With the baseball trade deadline tomorrow who are the players you hope or think will be traded? I was kind of miffed yesterday when I had Raul Mondesi on my offense only to notice he'd been traded to Arizona. Another good one off my list I guess. I'm worried about Sydney Ponson. He's probably the only good pitcher the Birds have. And yeah, I didn't pick him tonight. I have the gutt feeling he'll be letting his frustration with the lousy deal the Orioles offered him affect his game. Not to make the people who picked the Birds tonight squimish or anything.

Thanks Bethie, I could always count on you! :p

I just saw that Guillen was traded to the A's as well as Glanville to the Cubbies. I had hoped that Lowell would have come to the Cubs, but since Florida has been surprisingly good, they didn't want to let him go.

I have a feeling Ponson will end up in a Yankees jersey (after they get rid of Weaver) before all is said and done.

Sorry to rain on your parade Doucheman. But I didn't tell you to take him...hahaha. Plus, the Birds love to use their lousy bull pen when they don't need to. Which is another bone of contention. Would you rather have a pitcher stay in the game who might be getting tired and have a high pitch count, or bring in a reliever who may not be as good.

Bethie: You don't think Mondesi will do well in Arizona? AZ is a good organization, why wouldn't he?

Oh, you are assuming he did well in NEW YORK!! (Well at least as an ex -Dodger, he is BACK in the NL)....Not sure that Delucci +2 ML was that much better Fair trade or just having fun with uniforms??

Lowell was SUPPOSED to go to LA. Bummer. Of course you know he is my fantasy favorite. (ooops, except for tonight I have that freakishly tall Sexson...)

No good guys ever come to LA anymore.........

I like Raul Mondesi. It's just with my fickle, non sport gene mind I feel you're only as good as the people around you. Maybe he only did well in NY because of the lineup he was in. If he gets put in close to the bottom of the lineup, who's he gonna bring in with a homer? Hey, I told you I'm not a sport nut, just someone with an overacitve imagination. Change scares me sometimes. It has to be proven to me first.

Yep, Glanville is an ex-Cubbie. Now if they could just bring back Dontrelle, Mueller, and Rod Beck (the Shooter), the Cubs will be all set!

Hahaha...no fighting over Raul. I want him for his bat, not his balls.

But we still gotta jello wrestle over Bill Hemmer.

'k. Pick the flavor. But remember, I have the yoga(o) trained legs. I will crush you. But it will most likely be fun to watch.

Speaking of men....*OFF-TOPIC ALERT*, just as in the 80's we had catch phrases, most notably YUPPIES and DINKS and GUPPIES or whatever...now the new catch phrase appears to be:

Metrosexuals. read on:

So what makes a metrosexual man? He's been defined as a straight, sensitive, well-educated, urban dweller who is in touch with his feminine side. He may have a standing appointment for a weekly manicure, and he probably has his hair cared for by a stylist rather than a barber. He loves to shop, he may wear jewelry, and his bathroom counter is most likely filled with male-targeted grooming products, including moisturizers (and perhaps even a little makeup). He may work on his physique at a fitness club (not a gym) and his appearance probably gets him lots of attention -- and he's delighted by every stare...

Um. Ok. Two Words:

No Thanks.

Or two MORE words:

I'll pass.

Unless of course this describes any of our WONDERFUL men on this thread  , then you just go be all the beautiful man you can be!

Not my cup of tea either. But, here in Baltimore most of those types of men already have boyfriends. And a man with jewelry, I'm sorry, is a BIG turnoff. Unless, of course, it's a wedding ring. And preferably I don't have a matching one.

And Dolce, cherry with extra whipped cream. I'm sure when I take you on our Thelma and Lousise excersion in NY we'll find a place that has amateur wresling night. Unless, of course, you're not an amateur.

Man, Talk about taking the thrill out a thread!

Dam, no wonder you two are slipping down, If you were two men they would say you were thinking with the wrong head!
By the way maybe you two should hit the showers and head stright to the locker room!

Games are good right now, much like watching a bad train wreck...

Brown made a pitching error already and I am looking at 2-0 Philly. What's that Jo Jo? You hate Philly? uh -huh. I hear ya.

I will have to tear myself away soon before the family files a missing persons report on me....

At least tonight my ps starts at 8 oclock. I've been having games that didn't start until 10 oclock. So I would literally go into work in the morning, already in a bad mood, to see how rotten I did. But until then, I have the comfort of seeing my offense do absolutely nothing.

Keep trying Geoff. You don't get offers like that everyday. Or...maybe you do.

Well, Doucheman, I don't want to say I was right about Ponson, hell, yes I will. I was right about Ponson. :p 2-0 and no outs. Glad I fought that urge. That's the 2nd time I ditched a 1st pick ps and it turned out good. Although, I guess I shouldn't count my chickens before they hatch.

Offense? Yeah, they trade Mondesi and then don't play him. Lovely. And Joe, I'm not too fond of your Royals right now.
