Whoa!! I just took a peek at tomorrow. It is like a Who's Who in pitching : Brown, Johnson, Dontrelle, Wood , Moyer, Clemens, Schmidt... I don't know about you guys, but this will take a wee bit of thought.......

With a -2 in Pitching I was so glad to see the bats pull some weight and pulling 44 points; which made the pitching so it didn't sting as much.

Yes, I guess you are right. The view would be a hell of a lot better for you. I've got the sandwich going here with Buffy below (and I do hope she stay down long enough) and Bethie just one point above me. Problem is Bethie makes it hard to get a good view with all Trash she throws and swinging that baseball bat at your legs never helps either!

40 points between me and 3rd and I have a different PS than most, hmmm Difficult, not Impossible (yet another impression I have been working on ). Although my choice of PS was more of a leftover from yesterday cause of little opportunity to change though - however I have learned sometimes it is better to be lucky than good. So here is to me getting lucky.

Nothing personal DB - but I have had the same stinking view from pretty much the last third of last season and now this - time for a change of scenery for me.

If we applied our scoring to any game/season in the history of recorded baseball, which offensive player do you think had the greatest offensive day ever? Greatest season ever? (My first guess is Bonds for the season, but I'm not sure.)

Also, which staff had the greatest pitching day ever? (My first guess is a game that went long into extra innings, but it could be someone's perfect game or one of Clemens's 20K games.)

Didn't Joe Adcock once hit 4 homers and a double in a single game? That's 18 TB, plus at least 4 runs and 4 RBIs. That's a total of 26. Any extra RBIs from the homers would add to that total. It would be tough to beat that.
Wait...Didn't Mark Whiten have a 4 homer 12 RBI game a few years ago? That's at least 32.

A perfect game, 27 Ks, and a win would equal 59 pitching points. Obviously, that's never happened, but as a basis for comparison, here's a believable extra inning game:

18 innings, one earned run, 9 hits, 2 walks, win, would be 45 points.

The longest game in history, I think, was a 26 inning 1-1 tie. So that would be 75, minus the hits and walks.

You might be onto something with Mark Whiten, Plaw. I just looked up Shawn Green's huge day last year - 6 for 6, four homers, a double and a single with six runs and 7 RBIs. That should tie Whiten's 32 points.

You said 'gaining ground' - gaining ground does not mean 'passing you'. But no matter, a lot of talk of a non payoff bet anyway. I will note though that if I do get ahead of you for more than a day, no worry, I will not try and rub it in. I will continue to keep my usual quiet disposition, that all have grown accustomed to.
