I haven't gotten the pop-up, but I notice that since the 2nd half started it takes forever to go from page to page. Not that bad when changing my own roster, but when you try to look at someone else's, it's ridiculous.

I'd venture a guess that the problem is at their end, not yours.

LD: The values did change after the first full week of the first half. Since we only had a four day week, they apparently decided to leave them alone for now.

And DB - sounds like the web site is trying to run a Java applet and your browser either is set to not run Java apps or it can't run the app. Although in reality I think the real problem is that your computer is detecting an internal error in the sense that it sees you NOT in fourth place so it doesn't know what the hell is going on.

I think PL's right - They won't change the values until after at least one FULL week. I didn't think of that when I made my roster, so have some guys who aren't necessarily *good* right now, but wanted them at the starting price for the forthcoming week. Ahh well, we'll see how it works out...

As for the Java error, I don't get it either. If you just got a new computer, and it came with WinXP, then you likely don't have Java. MS wasn't allowed to include Java in their software for some b.s. legal reason so you have to get it yourself now.

BTW, a couple months ago I got SO fed up with all those damned pop-up ads on the BBC game site that got a pop-up ad blocker. Better, but you still had to wait for the blocker to process the pop-ups, which would delay your speed in clicking on links. I then got Netscape 7 which includes a pop-up blocker that works smoothly and quickly, you don't even notice. I use Netscape 7 for ESPN, and IE for everything else. It's worth it. Just having Netscape's tabbed windows is worth it. Try it out if you're overwhelmed by pop-ups.

The new computer came with a pop-up blocker as well (I guess it doesn't block error messages.) I've worked on it since Friday afternoon and this morning, and I've had 77 pop-ups blocked. That's a ton! I guess I can't play volleyball on orbitz.com anymore!

Hmmm, if you already have Java installed, you may have to uninstall it first. Or leave it alone, the error may be elsewhere (like in browser settings or something). I assumed you got a brand-new XP system. But try it and see what happens. You backed-up first, right?

Well, I downloaded java and the problem still persists.

In any case, I'll let our IT guy take care of the problem.

GOD!!! Why is ESPN so freaking slow today. I've been on my computer sind 7:45 and have just picked my PS. It clocks for at least 1/2 hour at a time. Or are Doucheman and myself the only ones with computer problems?

I don't have to jinx him. His ERA is 4.19, and the Cards have given up at least 5 runs in all his previous 8 starts -- including 4 starts giving up 9+ runs. The team is 3-5 in his last 8 starts, during which span he's added 2 pts to his ERA. So you can't blame any bad outting on me! :p

Yes, usually have to reboot at work 3 times a day anyway because our dinasour of a machine usually crashes that much. Everything is ok except that. It's a conspiracy I think.
