Why do I have a feeling that my Padres pick will bite me in the butt?

Since we're on the 25th page, here's the starters again:

Tuesday:

PL 2441 Phillies (12) 36 2477
LDV 2281 Dodgers (5) 26 2307
JG 2217 Dodgers (5  ) 30 2247
UU 2204 Dodgers (5) 37 2241
DB 2202 Padres (11) 36 2238
OA 2038 White Sox (4) 27 2065
HH 1986 Yankees (22 ) 43 2029
SC 1973 Red Sox (-24 ) -6 1967
BDD 1892 Giants (31*) ~60 ~1952

*Data entry is wrong in game box score, this is my quick math guess

#3-5 is very close... as is #8-9 now!

Did almost everyone stay away from the Mont-Fla doubleheader today because
a) They're not paying attention or
b) They were smart enough to look at the weather forecast first, and saw that that they expect rain all friggin' day again?

And on another note...
Buffy and JG (my closest pursuers): I could understand if you had the LA staff at way below market and were willing to bite the bullet, but how do you pay 7.9 for a PS at Coors?

Well, Plaw, it looks like the doubleheader today can make us or break us. I also stacked (partially) my team with players from the doubleheader. The difference between us though is that I went all out Expos while it looks like you hedged your bet and picked up Florida offense against your Expos PS. You probably made the wise desicion but what the heck?! :p

ME TOO!!!

I will be interested in SC's points today since I had Millwood picked until about midnight my time last night. Ballsy move going with the DH and 100% chance of HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS! But, no guts - no glory.

If it is indeed postponed again today, that just means zero pitching points (a few offense for me) and a double header scheduled ANOTHER time. The way my week has panned out so far already, not sure I would be too shocked.

It's gonna be hard to bridge the gap to PL -matching cajones with him (ie: thinking alike). But see, in the back of my mind I KNEW he was gonna do exactly what he did. He on the other hand he probably thought I'd go with Philly....

Seeing PL's roster - playing with only 3 offensive players (1 - we share) not associated with the doubleheader - makes me not mind so much if a rainout occurs.

Coors Shmoors - That's not such a major factor as it was before the humidor... How many homers were hit last night there? :p

Scores/PS's coming up...

Hey, Buff...

There's a school of thought that would say "with a 200 point lead, play defense" i.e. pick as many of the same players as possible that you think your opponent will have. I can see that strategy in week 14 or 15, but not yet.

Of course, as long as you keep picking 7.9 pitching staffs at Coors, I don't think I have to worry too much about playing defense. :p

BTW, my original lineup today had Tampa Bay's PS, with major offense.

Jeez, very late last night Miami weather was 90% chance of T-Storms during the day and evening, now it's 60%/40%... Guess they might get one in. These two teams play a 2-game series later in the summer in Miami and the DH could easily happen then if they don't. All I gotta say is... Go Florida!!

Funny, you will be away from home in week 14 and I in week 15.

You have a good lead on me but you are not unstoppable. I am probably the most consistent player since the beginning of this game (need I reiterate I started late? ) Although, this seems to be my "slump" week...I will come back strong.

??? So what happened to Millwood? I had the Phils picked but after their game last night I switched to the Cubbies - even though I knew I would not have Wood today. Hey - oh nevermind. The Phils have no offense they can't buy a hit so I couldn't go with them, plus their bullpen bites. The Cubbies are not much better but I gotta believe they will not lose to the Pirates twice in a row.

And damn, if I didn't catch the double-header. My time was pretty limited yesterday and didn't even notice there was a DH today - even though I knew it was a rainout .

Of course I have a life unlike the self proclaimed FB Leader :p , so I can see me not catching that - although it still pisses me off that I missed it.

Actually I missed the first TWO games.

BDD, you don't stay up late enough. I think there is at LEAST 3 insomniacs in this league. Or at least some that take their nightly potty breaks just minutes before the deadline!

I have a good job, a wonderful son, a beautiful girlfriend, and a reasonable ex-wife. I live in a gorgeous apartment with a skyline view of Manhattan, drive a new car, wear nice clothes, and have many friends.

I eat in fine restaurants, have plenty of toys, and enjoy my hobbies. And unlike the 76ers, my Nets are going to the NBA Finals.

And best of all (OK, maybe not best), I'm in first place in the Gangster Bulletin Board Fantasy Baseball League.

No life? Ha! What more could a man ask for?

I think I'd rather have a book from someone in the Top 10 -- or even Top 1000 -- of the game at least :p (What is your overall rank, anyway? I'm sitting pretty at 26,068th )

Um, how do I figure out my overall rank? I know what percentile I'm in (94.3), but I can't figure out where to find overall rank. If I knew how many players there were, total, in the game, I could back into it.

Call me dumb on this one, but HELP

I am ranked 65,297 BUT with a bullet

And if you calculate that I started 10 games late I believe I am actually number 2.

Thanks for the help, guys. Funny, I never noticed that on the sign-in page.

I'm ranked number 7057. I came up with 123,807 players, the difference, I guess, due to rounding off the decimals.

My low ranking is due to the fact that it took me a few weeks to develop my winning strategy. Watch me in the second half!
