Knowing how your opponent plays doesn't help. My strategy and logic are superior... ...all you can hope to do is copy them and get lucky, like BDD did yesterday. And BTW, I've been studying your moves, and there are a few things I'm doing that you haven't caught onto yet :p

And to read this right now: "Williams has never defeated the Cubs, going 0-3 in five appearances" - argh! Then again, Clement is winless over St Louis, so one of those records may change if this game is played

JJ - I wish I knew... I have no idea what's going on with him, it's taking much longer than last year. (P.S. I don't think KC is gonna win tonight ) Anyway... None of our PS's are doing that great tonight. Hopefully that'll remain true for the late games

Leaderboard, yes, but not for who to pick. More for how to pick. Learn some successful strategies. ESPN Insider? Nah. Other fantasy services? Uh-uh. Actually, I was gonna start my own. Do people pay money for this?

I've been doing this for years (believe it or not ), and even KNOW the strategy of the best players this game, but I've been stubborn in my thinking. I do normally end the season around 90%, but I'm struggling this year. I have recently changed my strategy, though (as for offense at least). PS is still a gamble, regardless of who's pitching, or who you're playing. Like, who'd've thought Cleveland (so far) would be on top today for PS? And Royals, at -45 pts

The above is what you said on page 1 of this thread. Never having played before, I allowed myself to be misguided by it. Totally wrong, IMO. That's not the way anyone on the leaderboard plays it.

That's why I said "but I've been stubborn in my thinking" And it still totally makes sense to me, cuz after so many weeks, you'll never be able to afford him again. But of course, the "little guys", on any given day, can hit 2 homers or whatever. It's greatly a matter of luck, of course. But I've been trying to do it like the pros lately, so we'll see how it goes. Congrats on Schmidt's 13 K's tonight... never thought I'd ever be rooting for the Mets in my life! Tied 5-5 ... you trying for the "extra innings" method? Hahahaha, Santiago isn't gonna get any more called strikes now! Damn, looks like LA was the pick tonight. Back to 4th for me...

PL: Bring it ON! Curse of Pork still alive and well. For once I didnt share a brain with you three! We'll see later if me being an independent thinker was a GOOD thing... By the way PL - I'm sure my husband wonders who plaw is and why I say such mean things about him and curse him late at night. He's a smart man though, he doesnt ask and stays miles away from me while I'm checking scores.

Today reminds me one of the oldest questions since the dawn of fantasy sports, one that's troubled man (and LDV) and will continue to trouble them until the day they die or stop playing: Prior pitching against the Cardinals as my pitching staff. Pujols firmly entrenched as my Left Fielder. Who to root for? Plus I'm a Cubs fan. My desired outcome is that Prior pitches a 20 K, complete game shutout giving up only 3 or 4 hits, all to Pujols.

28 points for my pitching staff and Pujols got a home run! Of course Pujols hit a homer - the day after I trade him! Yes, Bad Daddy - we must've somehow cancelled each other out - 28 pts!! woohoo! We're both hovering around 55 for the day. Nice. I'll post the early returns next... PL - What happened, you couldn't beat the Mets?

Egads, I've only heard of 4 of those guys, and would have none of them on my own team (unless, of course, it was beer-on-base Wiffle ball in the back yard ) Like what I said the other day - games may look like a sure-thing on paper, but anything can happen. (Maybe that's why SC picked the Tigers? ) Every sports fan knows that, of course, though it seems most apparent in baseball. Luck is a major factor. Just wish I had more of it (the good kind)

Roughing it up one on one, toe to toe would have been good. Truth be told, I had Loaiza picked, but I remember last week how he got me 35 points and figured to pick him today would be some kind of jinx. However I made my Atlanta pick early in the day and damned the weekends when I am not at home and around 11 pm last night, had a thought and wanted to change - but alas didnt make it home before the deadline. Now I do hope the WSox have a great day...even if that benefits SC.....

Sunday unofficial finals
PL 2004 Twins (21) 44 2048 LD 1945 Braves (22) 46 1991 UU 1848 Dodgers (26) 37 1885 JG 1843 Yanks (12) 36 1879 DB 1790 Rockies (32) 70 1860 HH 1751 Yanks (12) 38 1789 OA 1666 Braves (22) 54 1720 SC 1632 ChiSox (9) 36 1668 BD 1568 Yanks (12) 35 1603
Considering that the current #1 player of this game, overall, scored only 26 pts today (he had the D-Backs for 8 pts), I think we all did pretty well
