I was SOOOOOOO conflicted last night - like I WANTED to pick the Orioles but couldnt bring myself to do so. Logic says pitching 2 decent innings even with nothing special can get you at LEAST 20 points. But no matter how I sliced it, I couldnt put my faith in those pitchers. Plus the forecast is not just for scattered T storms but T Storms with many lighting bolts. Although nowadays, they hardly postpone games for rain, it has to be raining cats and dogs.

Plawrence is behind me by only 8 points. Most likely, he will pass me today but his ascent will only be temporary.

Is it mean of me to wish and pray for a rainout in Detroit? Then I wont feel so bad about picking the Moose - who has NEVER let me down

PL - The only flaw in your reasoning is that a PS can earn negative points (and sometimes WAY negative), offense can't.

I'm from Chicago and you just can't count out Prior against anybody. My feeling is, they got the shutout yesterday out of their systems and the bats come out today! At least that's what I tell myself!

And I didn't mention it earlier, but I agree with both you and JG. It doesn't look like the rain will stop anytime soon (I checked the hour by hour chart on weather.com- what has this game done to me?! ) and also, the chance of way negative points just didn't appeal to me with the uncertainty of that pitching staff.

But who knows... plaw can turn out to be a genius. I believe there's been two doubleheaders this year. I chose the right PS on the first one (Montreal), and I passed up on the Mets/D-backs just recently when the D-backs got 60+ points.

Yeah, BDD - When I have Woody, it's hard to go wrong - I long for the days he pitches. Otherwise, it's just a limp outting, and not as pleasurable. But I know Woody will be coming soon enough!

But Pedro's pretty good, too

I need the offense to handle their bats better. I'm tired of them getting fisted, or having the high hard one pass them by. They gotta do a better job handling the pitcher's balls. The nubbers they hit don't help - they need to get to third base more often.

JGeoff, I know how you long for the days when you have Woody going on for you. When you have Woody you probably feel invincible. It's only a shame you feel that way every 5 or 6 days

Funny though, because when I woke up today I realized I had Wood today. :p

I was literally out all night last night from 6pm onward - and though at the time I went to bed this morning, I knew the score of the Dodgers game and was satisfied I didnt crash and burn with that choice, I had no idea of the final scores till just now.

Moving up to 2nd place was better than I had hoped for. I thought I was gonna drop hard for some reason.

Although once again, I am the only one that chose my particular pitching staff today. Not sure if that makes me feel good, or uncomfortable. Or just blue wishing I had some Wood today......
