Hey talking is part of the game - but I am sinking soo fast here over the past few days. I was doing well up until Sunday, even got out of the basement - just for a day but still, but then a 12, followed by a 0, (a friggin 0) and tonight my batters do good, at least the ones that play and the stinkin Yanks and their $7M pricetag I think I am about 2 or 3 points with them. My patience for this is wearin thin.

If they get me minus points again, uggh, at least my batters are getting me some points, if I could get some decent points from my PS I wouldn't be doing that bad. I thought it would be interesting to figure out my pitching stats for the season so far, an idea born of being up at 4:30 AM with nothing to do. So here they are:

I think this is real interesting, because it clearly debunks the notion that pitching is all-important in this game. Only 8 points separate us, and your pitching has been quite superior to mine, ergo, my offense has been better.

Now I just gotta figure out what the relationship is between what a player spends on pitching and how many points he gets, vs. spending less and getting more offense. Like is 1.0 in cap space better spent on pitching or offense? I didn't compare and analyze who spent what between us, but if I did, I'm sure it would show that you spent more on pitching and I spent more on offense. Of course, spending more doesn't guarantee more points, though. And what would happen if you took the cheapest PS every day, and loaded up with offense? Would that be a better strategy? And, am I nuts, here, or what?

Speaking of logic, I have always maintained mine is "twisted". I hardly ever take money into consideration when picking. There are times I have spent every cent and sometimes I look and realize I have 2 million left over. I pick my players FIRST and it is not till later I realize $$ might be a factor....

Funny you would think my stats were superior to your picks PL.....I have been frustrated the past few weeks at picking some good, CONSISTENT hitters only to feel I was "off" a day always picking the PS.

Many things are considered making my picks....mostly I consider what the opposition is, stats, looking at playing at home or away (taking into consideration that I have yet to see a HR hit at Coors all the times I've been there ), weather, injuries, the price of hot dogs and whether I "like" the players I pick (why I'll never have Chipper on my roster ).

With that kind of twisted logic one would think Buffy is readying herself to crash and burn, huh?

Plaw, I applaud your courage in picking the Orioles today in the doubleheader. I was seriously thinking about it, but in the end I just couldn't pull the trigger. If they were sending their better pitchers out there, then I would do it in a heartbeat. The combined w/l record of the pitchers today are 1-6. Too much of risk for me, even against the Tigers.
