0 points from Jason Collins, not quite what I was expecting scoring-wise but he did do a decent job on the boards and provided a good defensive presence throughout the night.

Nets 106 Phoenix 93. Nets go to 14-7.
Well, Irishman and Spanish Inquisition said it all for me while I was busy writing about wrestling.

Irishman, the NJ NETS update is supposed to follow this format: Nets 105 Trailblazers 104. Nets go to 15-7. Then your comments on the game. :p

Very pressive performance by LeBron James tonight in the national spotlight: 31 pts, 13 rebs, 6 assts vs the no.1 ranked high school team (Oak Hill) in the country. This kid has got a bright future and hopefully he surrounds himself with people who are looking out for his best interests. It's almost a given that he will enter the 2003 NBA Draft and be the first pick.

Unless he gets hurt because he plays a faster speed than others, or barring unusual circustances he will be numero uno.

If he's allowed to enter the draft, it looks like they already have Yugoslavian Darko Milicic, a 17-year old 7-footer, penciled is as number 2 also.

Bron Bron has what you can't teach: court awareness, instinct, and basketball understanding.
He lacks what is the easiest to correct: shooting.
He won't dominate his first year, but he is damn good for a h.s. player. Kobe, McGrady, Pierce will serve LeBron something awful. Ron Artest would eat Bron's ass. But, again, the kid is damn good for 17 years old!!!!

Nets 79 Wizrds 65. Nets go to 16-7.
5 wins in a row, all at home. Sole possession of first place in the Atlantic Division.
Nets led the whole way, but Washington cut the lead to 57-55 midway thru the fourth. Nets outscored them 22-10 the rest of the way for the very ugly win..
21 for Jefferson, 19 for Martin, a triple double for Kidd (11-10-10).
Jordan: 12 points on 5-20 shooting. Looked like a shell of his former self.

Pistons 101 Nets 91. Nets fall to 16-8
Another road loss. No bright spots for New Jersey.
Boy, this topic isn't seeing much action lately.

I'm still recovering from the Jazz loss to the Kings. We should have won, if it weren't for the terrible calls at the end. Ameachi got called on a foul after cleanly rebounding the ball over Chris Webber.
Star players get away with murder out there.

Ok, so season is more than a quarter over. Almost time to think about all-stars. Here are my early predictions as of now: East PG Jason Kidd- Nets SG Allen Iverson- Sixers SF MJ- Wizards, people will still vote him starter. PF Tracy McGrady- Magic, its' the all-star game so everybody plays out of position. C Jermaine O'Neal- Pacers
West PG Steve Francis- Rockets SG Kobe Bryant- Lakers SF Kevin Garnett- T'Wolves PF Yao Ming- Rockets, gets the sportscenter exposure C Shaq- Lakers

Knicks 101 Nets 99. Nets fall to 16-9
12-1 at home. 4-8 on the road. And since Madison Square Garden is about 10 miles from the Continental Arena, I barely consider it a road game.
Nets led by 10 midway through the third, then fell apart. Missed shots, bad passes, poor defense, etc. They had a chance to tie with about 8 seconds left, but Kidd missed an off-balance jumper, and three guys missed the put-back.
Kidd shot 10-19, and 17-18 from the free throw line, for 39 pts to go with 11 assists. Knicks shot 10-17 on three-pointers.
Lakers at home tomorrow. Preview of the finals, Don Corpuzzi? Not the way these teams are playing.
