Yo Yo Yo - Big Daddy in Da House, giving a shout out to all me 'peeps'.

So is it too late to get into this game, I think there are still about 2 or 3 games left.

So what is this I see - a fantasy Golf game now? Oh, excuse me.

:p

What baseball and basketball along with Bass Fishing is not enough?

Hey nothing wrong with a bit of competition among friends right?

So just wanted to say 'hi' to everyone. Hope all is going well. Hope that for those of you that celebrate Easter - have a good one tomorrow. PL, I know you don't celebrate it and from reading through some of the other threads I have to admit I am surprised you even have time for some of these fantasy games and the such - you know with the secret group trying to take over and own the world. My guess is that you are either (a) not included in that group or (b) you are such a high ranking member of it that it allows you all sorts of free time to play fantasy sports while slowly owning the world.

Ok so I am out of here again - just wanted to give a shout out to 'me amigos', you know who you are. Back to your games.

PL - you can go scold me about posting in your thread now, it will be done in a few days anyway so .....

As you were ....

8 points combined. I dodged a bullet there.

Doesn't help me with the overall though.

Look what it comes down to, DB. Unbelievable!

163 days of competition.
About 1200 NBA games, with, reasonably speaking, about 12,000 players to have chosen from.
978 selections of players and coaches.

I won't be the slightest bit surprised if it comes down to the last day, and one or two players difference on our rosters.

Not to take anything away from your impending second half win, of course.

But everyone knows that dividing the season into two separate games is a cheap device they use to get people who are out of it re-interested, and to draw some new players in.

The only thing that really counts is total points at the end of the season.

No offense taken, plaw. I probably don't mind so much since I'm actually in this race (as opposed to baseball where a 4th place finish in the first half of last year doomed me).

It is absolutely amazing that when all is said and done, it will probably come down to the last day. And to be currently separated by one point...

On a side note, I can't wait until this game is done so I can concentrate on more important things like... what's the weather like in St. Louis versus Anaheim??? :p

Heat activate C Zhi-Zhi, place C Woods on IL

BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Miami Heat on Monday activated center Wang Zhi-Zhi and placed center Loren Woods on the injured list.

Zhi-Zhi had been sidelined since March 31 with right big turf toe. The 7-1 Chinese native is averaging 3.0 points and 1.1 rebounds in 13 games this season.

To make room for Zhi-Zhi, the Heat placed Woods on the IL with a lower back strain. He is averaging just 3.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 38 games.

I was up very late last night, scouring the web for word on a possible suspension for Shaq, but could find nothing. The best info I have is that my sports book has "No Line" listed for the game, which means they don't know, either.

Yep, Shaq getting suspended yesterday will cap-off my ridiculous night last night. Uggggh.

To make a long story short, I went to the Bulls game with my brother and mom. Hinrich just refuses to shoot and passes to people who couldn't hit an open jumper if their life depended on it - plus I had picked the Bulls to win. Bulls lose, Hinrich does OK - I'm fine. We go out to eat. That's fine too. Driving home around 11:30 PM, my brother has a tire blow-out with no spare. He didn't want me to call a tow truck so he asks me to hail a cab. Trouble is, we're on Lake Shore Drive - a quasi-highway. So I walk about a mile before I can get a cab and I get my car, and it was around 12:30 when I finally get back to my brother's car. And guess what... my spare tire doesn't fit his car.

So you know what... we call a tow truck. I didn't get home until 2:30 where I promptly see that Woody sucked, that punk Sura (who plaw had) rebounds a fake shot attempt to get a triple double, and oh yea, Woody sucked.

At least we all have our health!

You know it, JG! Did I forget to mention the snowstorm??

On to more important news, according to our news correspondent TM, Sura does not get credit for the last rebound. Correspondingly, he shouldn't get credit for missed field goal either. Net effect - zero. I will write to the NBA promptly asking them to credit the missed field goal, but not the rebound.

Well, the position I'm in is about the best I could have reasonably hoped for going into the last day.

A large enough lead in overall points that I feel safe enough, and a chance, albeit it a teeny-tiny one, to pull out a second half victory.

Your strategy for today, DB, is also interesting. I figure that you figure that your second half lead is large enough, so you didn't have to play defense today, and could go for guys that you didn't think I would take, as you tried to catch me in overall points while maintaining your second half lead.

I make that assumption based strictly on the fact that you didn't pick Bobby Sura. Unless you figured that I figured that you would take Sura, so I wouldn't take him because I would be trying to have a completely different team than you. But you probably figured that I figured that you wouldn't take Sura because you would be trying to have a completely different team than me and I was figuring that you were figuring that I would take him, so you didn't.

See?

Anyway, if everything goes right for me tonight and wrong for you, I have a shot. And if the reverse happens, than you do. It would have been more exciting and interesting if only about 20 points separated us in 2nd half and overall, but I gues this will have to do.

Truth be told, I haven't strategized at all the last few days - at least defensively. I haven't really done any research either. Otherwise, I would have caught on that Daniels from Dallas is tearing it up (and that Sura is off of his mini-slump). I guess I was just picking as I normally would with the superstars. These aren't excuses, mind you. I fault myself. Too many games going on... Too much work going on too...

That's OK with me, but the playoffs really are a "second season".

Fewer teams, fewer choices, and without divulging anything, I can think of a couple of strategic moves that I might handle diferently.

I guess we could have 15 different awards:

1) First Half Champion
2) Second Half Champion
3) Total Points Regular Season Champion
4) Playoffs Champion
5) Grand Total Points Champion
6) First Runner Up To All Of The Above (5 more)
7) Second Runner Up To All Of The Above (5 more)

How's that?

Forgive my short-hand, plaw! From all people, you know that I wouldn't presume winning at anything as a given...

It cost me a shot at winning the overall!
