Maybe because he didn't fit the stereotype of the typically hunky guy, but I bet husband wise he would have made a much better choice then say Sonny, Fredo or Johnny Fontaine!!! Attractiveness fades, I'd rather have a stable (well as stable as you could get in a crime family anyways) guy.
