The Americans were pivotal in the defeat of Nazi Germany, but the British stood alone against Hitler for 3 and a half years after the fall of France. Also, don't act like you lot were doing us a favour...you had your interests at heart really. Can we please not get into politics on here please. i realise the majority of people on here are from the States, but is it really necessary to say things like "God Bless America" at the end of your post...it is cringeworthy. I guess this is what you would call the British stiff upper lip.
