was watching series one today, i noticed there was a rolling stones song in 'down neck' where he first sees his father taking janice to the fair, does anyone know which song it is?

Well, the only Stones song I know of from Season 1 is "Thru and Thru". I think the songs you are thinking of are either: "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane or "Carrie Ann" by the Hollies.

"Thru And Thru" was actually from Season Two, not One. We hear it a couple times in the finale, "Funhouse" (and the song was used incredibly well, I might add!).
