Lollie, your poignant memories just made me consciously aware of why I prefer Part I over II (and certainly over III). I, too, can relate to the closeness of the family and think back on those times of my youth as happy times. That was a central theme in Part I and we're not alone in thinking that. Mike thought it also at the end of Part II.
