Persoanlly, i don't wish for a fourth film to be made. With Mario Puzo deceased, the way Random House (the publishing company) and Paramount (the film studio) have gone about the possibility of making another installment reaks of commercialism above common sense. I just know if another film were to be made it would come across as a cheap, imitation, despite the excess millions sure to be spent on it. I sincerely hope even if it were to be made that Francis Ford Coppola has the good sense to steer clear. Anyway have your say, yes or no, to whether a fourth film should be made.

No, simply because of the fact that it can bring down the whole trilogy.

Without Puzo, there should be no new Godfather books or movies. It would be literary necrophilia. Maybe Puzo should put a ghostly horse's head in the bed of Paramount chief Sherry Lansing.

The only way a fourth film should be made is if a GREAT writer is brought on board. Also possibly Scorsese or David Chase can be involved.

I change my vote. I voted yes, but now that I read that FFC would not direct it, I change my mind. Disregaurd the 1 vote in the yes column.

I agree with Paul, unless a top director films it, (one familiar with mob movies at that) I don't want it to be made.

personally i'd love 2 see a fourth godfather, but if it DID happen ther's no way it would be as good. also i fear it wud spoil the whole trilogy aspect: being a trilogy is wat the godfather's all about. plus i dont think ther's another director capable of resurrecting the series successfully apart from martin scorcese--maybe!

I voted no because I just think that the original thrill of the first two is long gone. And I also think that they have pretty much run out of ideas. And I agree with Carstonio and Paul, that without Puzo or FFC, they better have good writers or it's going to suck.

It's been a while since I posted here, but this topic has got me interseted again. The popular consensus is that without Puzo or Coppolla this could never be a true Gf film. I agree with this but more to the point is the question whether it is going to be made. If so then what can be done to ensure it is not a big pile of Casino (sorry to Casino fans out there). Well, other than those two, nobody knows The Godfather better than the people on this board, and there are many budding writers here. Will i am not suggesting that someone from here writes it, they could do a lot worse than look for ideas from the true fans on this board. Especially as they will have us to deal with if it is of straight to video calibre

I will not be surprised in any way since PAramount knows that a fourth Godfather film will bring in millons of dollars and i for one would love to see a Godfather: PArt IV. Also, many people say one bad movie will destroy the Godfather series. I disagree; with movies as great as GF and GF2 (and for some GFIII), a mediocre or bad GFIV will not ever be able to wipe out how truly great this series is.

I voted NO, but then ANDY GARCIA popped into my head. Though he's no Pacino, De Niro, or Brando, with a GREAT script and director, he MAY be able to pull the weight of the movie. He left quite an impression on me. Then again, it just may come off as another gangster film, with RAPPERS! Come to think of it, I think I'll stick with NO. Without Mario Puzo it won't stand up to the first three. Leave a GREAT CLASSIC ALONE!!!
