the Coney Island eatery was “Nuovo Villa Tammaro”, not Scarpato’s, but I wasn’t there, I didn’t see anything…. Gerardo Scarpato was the owner, who may have well seen it all; he was murdered the fall of that same year.

The NYPD released a recent report indicating Sam Pollocia, and Johnny “Silk Stocking” Giustra (both Frankie Yale associates) were the trigger men. Pollocia disappeared almost immediately, and Giustra was murdered later that summer.

My guess would be the only mob guys willing to take the credit for that murder were ones who didn't do it, and thus could never be prosecuted. (but still earn points for the final new arrangement)

It wouldn’t have been the first significant murder by this hit team, they were strong suspects in what out of town job as well?
