Guess we'll just keep last question on the back burner, so speaking of burners -
This Hell’s Kitchen Gambino associate and brutal killer spent some of his free time trying to whack Fat Tony Salerno; in a rare circumstance in the world of organized crime he’s doing time along with his wife, who pulled a 15 year stretch for facilitating her husband’s racketeering operations.
A Jackson Pollock he wasn’t, but he left his own artistic splash of sorts in the form of the spattered blood of more than 30 murder victims claimed by his crew.

A: It wasn’t so much that the Mad Hatter was against selling mob memberships for $50,000 – probably more likely that he was upset he wasn’t getting a cut or that he failed to think of it first. Missing heroine, that Scalise was responsible for, provided a good back up excuse.
Q: This hit man, and supposed Murder Inc affiliate, got his nick name from a failed murder attempt that ultimately ended successfully after he ran around a city block catching his intended victim successfully a second time, from behind.

You are correct, sir! An additional factoid about Columbo's real esate career: The NYTimes did some in-depth articles about the Italian American Civil Rights League. They interviewed Joseph Cantalupo, Columbo's "employer." They asked how a lowly real estate salesman like Columbo could afford a lavish, upstate NY estate. Cantalupo replied, with a straight face: "Mr. Columbo is our best real estate salesman. He has the most sincere group of clients. No one ever tries to cheat him out of a commission."

A: The Chicago phone book Listed one A.Capone, 7244 S. Prairie, he at least carried a business card noting his capacity as a dealer of antiques.
Q: He was the second boss of what has been dubbed the “Mickey Mouse Mafia” – and to this day, the only West Coast boss to ever have a seat on the commission.

I would have thought it might be any or all of Carlo Gambino, Stefano Magaddino, or Tommy Lucchese - each Bonanno consipired to kill along with his then boss Joe Profaci.
Gambino would certainly be the 700 gorilla of the group.
In anycase, it was not a very welcome move for any boss.

According to Bonanno in his autobiography, it was Magaddino, his cousin, "out of jealousy," though you can just bet Carlo Gambino was in on it, as well as Tommy Lucchese. Peter, why don't you go ahead and post a question anyway?
