Well, I once read a (probably fictional) novel called "Prizzi's Honor" regarding "The most powerful Mafia family in North America (they all say the same don't they?). In that story, the underboss of the Prizzi family gets married to a non-Italian/Sicilian broad who happens to be a hit-person.
