Miller's Crossing is one of my very favorite films, and some Coen fans will frown upon the fact that I enjoy it more then Fargo, although that's a close one.

Fans of mob films will probably not find Miller's Crossing that great because it isn't like most other mob movies. It does have the underlying quirky Coen Brothers feel to it, as previously mentioned, and I think it could be more appreciated by a hardcore Coens fan rather then a hardcore mob fan.

One thing to especially note is the great, snappy dialouge between Gabriel Byrne and Marcia Gay Harden. They go on for at least 10 minutes at times with some of the most sarcastically funny and biting jabs at each other.

I also like how well Miller's Crossing develops it's very few characters. I mean you have only about 10 characters in the entire film with names, and they are each given a distinct personality with key scenes highlighting each of them. Definetly a film someone might need to watch more then once to truly appreciate.

I dream in widescreen.
