Al Lettieri as "Virgil Sollozzo"... Its as if Mario Puzo had him in mind when he wrote the book... His menacing Italian appearance and gruff voice... combined with his incredible acting skills and his fluency in Sicilian...He is the epitomy of a Sicilian gangster...hard to imagine him actually not being one in real life...He played that role superbly and every line he had in that movie was acted with smooth mannerisms and bold delivery...The combination of his manner, appearance, voice and exceptional acting made that role so enjoyable to watch him play... After him, i go for Pesci in Goodfellas...don't think that needs any explanation...

boneear made a good point...
Even simple lines like "let me worry about Luca", were so well acted and memorable...it was something about The Turk's mannerisms and voice...
When he is in the car with Michael on the way to Louie's and Michael asks if they are going to Jersey and he says, "Maybe...."
If it is possible to get a best actor award for ONE WORD, Lettieri would have won it!

I really liked Robert Miano, as Sonny Red in Donnie Brasco.

Not really a mobster but still a gangster. I'd have to say Alex from A ClockWork Orange.
Ho Ho Ho if it isn't fat stinking Billy Goat Billy Boy in poison. How are thou, thou globby bottle of cheap stinking chip-oil. Come and get one in the yarbles, if you have any yarbles you eunich jelly thou. There was me, that is Alex, and my three droogs, that is Pete, Georgie, and Dim, Dim being really dim, and we sat in a Korova Milkbar making up our rassoodocks what to do with the evening.

It is Frank Nitti. At the end, his weapons permit says "Mr. Frank Nitti".

Al Lettieri is excellent in Godfather.
I don't know his name - but the actor who plays Sonny in Bronx Tale is very good.
Al Pacino in Carlito's Way and Scarface (though I suppose he isn't really a villain in Carlito's Way). Samuel L Jackson - Pulp Fiction Gary Oldman - True Romance
"My wife was weeping before she fell asleep, outside my window I saw my Caporegimes coming to the house and it is midnight. So, Consigliori of mine, I think you should tell your Don what everyone knows."
