Yes, it was the studio version of "Gimme Shelter" from the "Let it Bleed" album (the part where Mary Clayton sings the chorus). Uh, another old hippie here...(and I do mean old!) Scorsese put together a great soundtrack for "Goodfellas," but I liked the soundtrack on "Mean Streets" even better because of all the doo-wop (that's how far back I go). It's hard to fault a movie that begins with "Be My Baby" (for that matter, it's hard to top one that begins with "The End.")
