Exactly. And that old casino owner and his number one guy have names. Alfred Gronevelt and Cully Cross. Cully only comes into the novel when his interests meet up with John Merlyn's. And, although it does happen a lot, Cully is NOT the main character, has very little narrative parts in the novel (even less than Janelle I think), and his part in the plot is merely getting John out of trouble, and, on one occasion, into a situation which would have caused trouble. I would thank you to get your facts straight before you go off ranting about what someone called the book. He hasn't read it - you have.
